(??? POV - Tokyo Settlement - A few hours earlier)

"I'm home." I called out, turning on the lights and half expecting to find someone waiting for me. To my relief it looks like Clarice wasn't home yet.

With the chaos to come tonight from what happened, she probably won't be home for a small while.

Looks like luck really was on my side tonight, if she knew I snuck out tonight after Lelouch and Y/N freed Kururugi I'd probably get a talking too about how worried she would be. I already worry her enough as it is...

Shaking my head I looked around the living room trying to find the remote. No doubt the news will still be circulating...and of course it was half buried in the cushion.

Hopefully they got away without a trace.

I turned on the TV and plopped down on the couch as news showed images of Zero and Yamato and their standoff with Kewell.

"-the former prime suspect in the murder of Prince Clovis, Private Suzaku Kururugi is still missing alongside the true culprit Zero and his partner Yamato." The announcer said, to which I let out a sigh of relief. "There were reports of poison gas being spread in the area, yet those reports have proven to be false."

Of course it was.

After everything that happened in Shinjuku I knew neither one of them would use poison gas.

Part of the reason I was confident enough to be there in person was I suspected as much after overhearing Y/N earlier before he directly confirmed it. While also making sure to secure a few different escape routes and to blend in with the crowd.

It was pure luck on my part to have not been that far off from where the two of them stopped infront of the convoy.

The news shifted to a video of the gas being released and the crowd running for their lives before it was paused.

"Take a look at this clip here. The colored smoke was originally thought to have been poison gas was actually a smokescreen. With the revelation that Prince Clovis had actually been creating and experimenting on Eleven's there is no doubt it only fed into the crowd's belief that it was poison gas." The announcer said, and I took some satisfaction at how they looked like they were trying to swallow a lemon slice admitting what Clovis did. Quickly regaining his composure as they continued. "Using the smokescreen and the mass confusion as a means of escape. Luck was certainly on their side, without it they would have been caught by the military."

At that I had to scoff.

Pretty sure whatever forces not trying to maintain some form of order in Japan were tearing each other apart.

They were all wrong.

Zero or rather Lelouch had mostly planned this out just like back in Shinjuku.

We won against the Britannians there and just like then he and Y/N used a smaller group to overcome the impossible by rescuing Kururugi from right under their clutches and exposing Clovis's crimes. Even including a back up Knightmare unit to fend off anyone trying to chase after them on the escape route.

Wonder if that Sutherland was still dangling off the freeway?

Clearing my head I noticed that the news shifted to the courthouse that was where Kururugi's trial was supposed to have been held and a growing crowd among the entryway.

"Just in, we have received word that Suzaku Kururugi has just been apprehended and is on his way to trial!" The announcer said, getting my eyes to widen.
