Prologue

(Y/N POV - September 11 2010 a.t.b)

Nunnally was luckily to have slept peacefully throughout the night, otherwise she would have woken up to hear the horrors that happened last night.

Considering that she still had nightmares about the night of our mother's death i was at least thankful she at least got a good night's sleep.

But that was the only good thing that came out of the disaster of last night and the final one thankfully.

The Japanese countryside was bombed by the Britannian Royal Air Force last night just to rub salt into wound of the fact they won the Second Pacific War.

Japan would soon be known as Area 11 and the ethic cleansing will soon begin, erasing the very culture and history of the Japanese.

Hpnestly such a practice disgusts me just be thinking about it, especially since it is encouraged by Britannian society and spearheaded by our father.

Essentally with the fact that he did this after disowning Leleouch and Nunnally and sent them here as hostages.

Probably knowing that i was here as well. considering I did sneak away with them while no one noticed.

Huge mistake on my part, considering how this country has become one huge warzone. But I wasn't going to let my little brother and sister die especially after all that their mother did for me.

Still I do not regret it, despite the horrid stat we are currently in anyway.

Resting in a small forest nearby surrounded by craters and the ruins of the same road  we had traveled along yesterday eating rations scavenged around the countryside. With Nunnally currently asleep in the only sleeping bag and Lelouch and Suzuka gathering firewood for tonight.

Speaking of whic, they have been gone for a while now.

Probably should go and checl up on them now, but that would risk leaving Nunnally alone. Something which I can not do.

So I decided to go with the easiest solution.

I gently slid Nunnally out of the sleeping bag and carried here on my back.

Of course it about as well as expected and she woke up after I took a few steps from our camp.

"Y/N, what's going on?" She said groggily, rubbing her tired eyes.

"Just checking up on Lelouch and Suzuka, haven't seen them in a while. So I figured I'd get you to help me chew Lelouch out for worrying his siblings so much." I said, trying to reassure her that things were alright as they could be...well as well as they should be in the middle of a war zone that is.

Can't have her stressing herself too much after all.

"But you were the one who woke me up." She said..

"Fair enough, but only because the other two have been gone so long. So tell you what, after I scold them for worrying me you can scold me for waking you up, deal?" I asked, my tone mischievous at the end.

"Deal." She said with a small grin.

"Alright then let's look for them." I said with a small grin of my own.

It was important to enjoy even smallest of positive moments like this in times like this past month as they are few and far between.

Still just a brief as the moment was, it ended just as quick as we looked as quietly as possible. There could still be patrolling soldiers after all and wouldn't want to alert them of our precense.

If they did find us I was certain Suzuka would be alright. The rest of us not so much considering we were Britannian.

Well mostly in my case, but the point still stands.
