I couldn't wait for Math to be over. I was so tired of interpreting graphics and finding the x using the y in equations, so basically I was just looking at the black, round clock waiting for the bell to ring.

Why would he lie to me? How could he lie to my face?

The thought of him lying to me had a strange repeat button on my mind and it kept playing over and over again, making me make up stories to try justify why he lied to me.

"Well, the homework is-" the teacher was interrupted by the loud bell and all of the students started to pack their things.

I collected my things and walked out of the classroom and headed to the cantine.

The hall was once again filled with students talking with their friends or leaving to go lunch.

Out of nowhere I feel my arm getting grabbed and I quickly turned around and looked at the person grabbing it.

"Hey you." I greet him with a smile. "Weren't we suppose to meet in the cantine?" I ask with my right eyebrow raised at him.

"Yes. Yes, we were supposed to meet in the cantine, but I saw you leaving class and I thought why not escort you?" He explained while chuckling. " Is everything okay? How was class?" He questioned me, noticing my lack of response.

"It was fine, Jeremy." I coldly answered him. "Then... what's wrong?" he asked me, trying to figure out why I was acting so coldly towards him.

"You!" I snapped. "What did I do?!" He asked with his hands in the air. I regretted snapping at him and didn't really wanted to pick a fight with him, so I lied.

"I'm sorry I snapped at you, I'm just nervous. Somebody followed me while I walked to Math class this morning." He looked at me worriedly and I noticed his body tensed a bit while I told him what had happened this morning.

"There's something else Thea, you're hiding something from me. Tell me."

Damn, I don't really want to get into a fight with him right now.

"You lied to me this morning, you didn't drive your bike into a tree. You lied, to me." I stated, dissapointed. I lowered my head not wanting to see his reaction, but changed my mind and glanced at him. "How do you know I lied? What if I was telling the truth?" "You don't know how to lie to me, you never did." I said in nothing but a whisper.

Jeremy sighted and shook his head looking down. "I'm sorry." He looked disappointed with himself and it broke my heart to see him like that, but I didn't break. "Why did you lie to me, Jer?"

"I can't tell you." He stated, looking into my eyes. "You can't or you won't?"

There was a moment of silence before he broke the silence. "I can't and I won't, it's too dangerous for you. I just don't want you to get hurt. You're my best friend." The last part coming out lower than his usual voice. "I'm sorry, Thea."

"I know how to protect myself, Jeremy." I looked at him with wide eyes trying to make him see I wasn't afraid of anything and I wanted to help. "Can we just drop the subject? Let's go luch at the cafe, my sister and some friends are waiting for us." "We'll talk about it later."

The walk to the cafe was silent and quick, and awkward.

"I'm really sorry, Thea." He said breaking the silence between us. "Jeremy, it's okay really. Let's eat. Where are they?" I dismissed the attempt of an apology, not really wanting to hear him.
