Chapter 8- Über-Speed Twist!

Hello again, PokèFans!

Sorry this chapter's late, I just started high school and have a lot of homework, band practices, etc.

Enjoy the latest (both ways) chapter of DTA! (Abbreviated for "Discovering The Aura")

[Third Person POV]

Hopping onto a big, fluffy bed, Starla sinks into the oversized mattress with Silver.

Ree jumps up and down on his bed, but Riley walks, not acting himself.

He'd had a long week, and is very tired. He would love some rest.

Flopping onto Ree's bed, Riley immediately falls asleep.

In due time, Starla, Ree, and Silver join him, all falling asleep in their beds.

(A/N: Riley shares a bed with Ree, Starla shares with Silver, and they all share one room)

-- next morning --

With a yawn, Ree is the first one to wake up.

Noticing that the others are still asleep, the Riolu tiptoes stealthily around the room to the coffee pot.

Ready to pour a cup, a raspy voice comes from behind, startling him.

"Who said you can have coffee?" Riley retorts, snatching the pot and pouring his own cup.

Ree sweatdrops and walks away, sitting on a windowsill.

The Pokèmon's ears perk up at the sound of a female shriek which came from outside.

The sound was so loud it woke Starla and her Eevee partner, neither of them fully alert.

[Riley's POV]

Rushing over to the window, I see a girl getting attacked by two wolf-like Pokèmon, with long, white fangs and pure red eyes. the Pokèmon's fur glowed lusciously, somewhat distracting.

Ree nods at me, and I nod back. In these situations, we don't need to exchange words, and immediately leave the building, abandoning the girls in the hotel room.

(A/N: Riley is only in black tank top and black basketball shorts, didn't have time to fully dress. He did slightly undress before he slept)

I skid to a halt next to my best bud Ree, landing right in front of the little girl and the wolf Pokèmon.

I pull out my Pokèdex to learn about this Pokèmon...

Poochyena, the Bite Pokèmon. A Pokèmon with a persistent nature, it chases it's chosen prey until the prey gets tired.

(A/N: Since I have PokèDex app, I'm gonna start using those PokèDex entries. They are from X)

"What are you people doing to this girl?!" Ree questions furiously. He obviously isn't happy.

A tall man wearing a large, black cloak steps forward, scoffing. "Well, well, well! What do we have here? A talking Pokèmon?"

"That's fascinating! I've never even heard of such a thing!" Says a shorter woman, wearing the same large cloak, but instead of sleeves she wears arm warmers on her forearms.

I stand back up, finished bandaging the girl's wounds, and throw a finger toward the two thieves.

"Give back that... thing!" I command, causing the two to scoff.

"If you want it so bad, then you're gonna have to come and get it!" The woman teases. "Poochyena, Bite!"

Both Pokèmon lunge towards Ree, fortunately he was able to dodge the first, but the second latched onto his arm.

"T-try to Force Palm it off!" I suggest.

Ree attempts, but before he can land the attack, the other Poochyena Tackles him to the ground.

Sweat begins to roll off my face.

How is Ree gonna fight two Pokèmon at once? If only I hadn't left Squire in my bag!

[Starla's POV]

"Silver, fire off two Shadow Ball attacks!" I tell my Eevee.

She follows directions and launches two black, shadowy blobs at the Poochyena, knocking them both off of Ree.

Riley turns to me with disbelief, mixed with gratitude and anxiety.

I leap to his side, and Silver helps Ree back to his feet and uses Helping Hand to boost their strength.

[Riley's POV]

The two Poochyena line up next to each other and use Howl to boost their strength as well.

Ree's eyes begin to glow white as he attacks without the need for me to tell him what to do.

It seems he used Quick Attack, and lariated both Pokèmon instead of the usual punch.

Both the man and woman gasp and begin to worry, seeing Ree stronger than he was.

To be honest, I'm surprised, as well. It seemed that as soon as Silver arrived, he gained more fighting spirit, and it's definitely not from the Helping Hand...

"No time for day dreaming, Riley! Let's finish this!" Starla yells, snapping me back to reality as I realize what she meant by that.

We were working on this the night before, and had finally nailed it. Now it's the time that we test how strong it is.

The Über-Speed Twist!

"Alright, guys, it's Über-Speed time!" Is all I have to say for the two to automatically begin the attack.

The two hold hands/paws and start walking, then slowly pick up speed, eventually into Quick Attack, as Ree picks up Silver and they twist into a corkscrew, driving into both Pokèmon and automatically ending the battle.

The two return their Pokèmon, grumbling in disbelief.

"Now hand over the thingy!" I shout at them.

The man tosses me a pendant with a pretty pink feather attached.

But before I can let them get away, there's one more thing I need to know...

"Who are you guys, anyway?!"

The duo stops, turns, and puts up kawaii signs with their hands, declaring, "We are the Nightmare Squad! And don't get too cocky, because we'll be back for you!"

And in a large puff of smoke, they disappear.

Starla hands the girl the pendant, but the girl pulls it over Starla's neck instead.

Starla is speechless, in total awe of the pretty accessory she is now in possession of.

I smile. Her eyes are so pretty when they sparkle...

"By the way, that's a Lunar Wing!" The small girl pipes up. "Its very rare, and people say that they keep away nightmares! I hope it will help you!"

She then runs away, leaving me with one last question...

What would that Nightmare Squad want with a feather?
