This is really late and I'm really sorry guys. But here it is, as good as it's gonna get.
His lips were bitter in contrast to the sweet tea. Then he pulled away. I blinked. Multiple times. It was the first time I'd been kissed since Jason. He kissed me. Will Solace kissed me. In my kitchen.
"I guess I'll go then." Will slid off the counter and slunk away.
"Wait what? Why?" I followed him.
"You just seemed out of it. And I guess I was wrong about Jason and I'm really sorry about that. You know the kiss thing. I guess I'll leave you alone forever now and I just will never talk to you a and......" Will kept rambling on and on.
"Will."
"Yes?"
I grabbed the front of his shirt with both hands and pulled him down. "Just shut up and kiss me." He grinned and complied.
I was right. They are bitter. But salty too. And soft. Jason's lips were always chapped and spit covered. Wills lips were soft, but dry. I pulled away and let go of his shirt.
"Gimme your cup." Will handed me his glass and I set it on the counter. I sat back on the island. Will started to sit too but I stopped him. "No. You stand here." I pointed to the spot in front of me.
Will smirked and stood between my legs, putting his arms behind my back. I laid my arms on his shoulders and leaned in.
We kissed for a long time I guess. It only felt like seconds, but I guess it was a while because at some point Lou Ellen came inside with Mrs. O'Leary.
"Are you guys gonna date now?"
We let go of each other fast as lightning. I fixed my shirt while Will tried to fix his hair.
"Lou Ellen you have to tell people when you come near them. And how long were you watching that?" Will asked, breathing heavy and talking fast.
"Not very long, but I saw Nico's chest." She turned to me. "You have a nice stomach. My stomach doesn't look like that. See?" She lifted her shirt and showed me her stomach.
"You're right. It doesn't look like mine." I glanced at Will. He was staring at Lou Ellen in disbelief. I coughed and he snapped out of it.
"Lou Ellen you can't go around telling people abut what you just saw. And please don't tell Mom or Nico's parents. Or anyone. At least until we tell you you can. Okay? And I don't know about the dating thing that isn't up to me." He glanced at me and blushed before looking at Lou Ellen again. "Say goodbye to Mrs. O'Leary. We're gonna go soon."
"Ohhhhhhh!" Lou Ellen whined. "Hey Nico do I have to go?" She gave me puppy eyes, but I learned to resist those forever ago.
"No. If Will says you have to go then you have to go. It maybe you can come back some other time. I think that Thursday afternoon we'll be seeing each other. Is that okay?" I bent down and asked her.
She frowned. "Humf. Fine. But only if you answer my question." Lou Ellen grinned at me.
I decided to play along. "Okay shoot."
"Are you gonna date Willy now?" She clasped her hands together and looked at me. I could hear Will sigh behind me.
I stood up. "Hmmm. I don't know. That depends. Whatta ya say Willy?" I looked at him over my glasses with a sly smile. He groaned.
"That means yes!" Lou Ellen shouted then ran out of the room.
Will laughed. "So we're dating now I guess?"
I pulled him close to me. "Does this count as a yes?" I asked and kissed him.
I pulled away and he smiled lazily. "I would think so."
"Good. Now go see your sister. You told her you were leaving." I commanded him. He shook his head and heads towards the door.
"Bye bye Nico. I'll see you Thursday!" Lou Ellen ran over and gave me a crushing hug.
"Ooff! Yeah. I'll see you then Lou Ellen." I hugged her back. Little kids.
"Oh yeah. About that. Where are we meeting? What did you even mean by that?" Will looked at me very confused.
"Oh yeah. I meant to talk to you about that. My dad said you could come over for dinner on Thursday cause Persephone isn't gonna be here. Is that okay?" I asked.
"Yeah that's perfect! My mom had said that I could invite you over for dinner on Thursday too. So um...." He looked around the house again. "If your family will be there too maybe we should do this at your house. Is that cool?"
I nodded. "Yeah. I'll let my dad know if you tell your mom. How about at 5-ish?"
Will smiled and nodded. "Sounds good." He leaned over and kisses me on the check. "See ya Nico." Lou Ellen grabbed his hand and dragged him out of the house, promising Mrs. O'Leary that she'd me back soon.

The front door opened and someone walked in. They set their bag down on their way to the kitchen, where they got a cup. I heard the faucet turn on then off. Shoes hit the floor in a pile. I could hear them walk into the living room.
"Sugar honey ice tea! What the heck Nico!" Hazel screamed as she splashes water all over herself. "What are you doing?" I groaned and turned over on the couch. "Okay nothing. Fine. I blame you about my shirt." I grunted. "So, how'd it go with Will?" I could hear the smile in her voice.
I grinned and rolled back over so she could see it. "So it went well?" I nodded. "Come on. Spill." Hazel say cross legged in the chair across from me.
I sighed dreamily. "So, we went to get his sister, then-"
"Wait he has a sister?" Hazel asked.
"Yeah she's like 7. Anyways. Then we came home and I went outside with her and Mrs. O'Leary and we messed around then I came back inside and I got Will and myself some ice tea which he likes the way you like it and I may have said that that way was gross and weird but that's besides the point." I took a deep breath. "And I put sugar in mind like I always do but I must've had the wrong cup or not as much tea or something cause I somehow poured way to much sugar in the cup and it was disgusting. And then Will was all like, ' lemme try it' and I gave him the cup but he kissed me instead and it was nice and then we kisses some more until Lou Ellen, that's his sister, came in and was all like ' are you guys dating now?' Yeah. And then they left. But they're coming over for dinner Thursday night with their mom." I breathed again.
Hazel stare at me with big eyes. "So let me get this straight. You guys kissed in the kitchen. In front of his little seven year old sister."
I stared at her. "Uh, yeah I guess. It sounds really bad and stupid when you say it that way."
"Pttthhhh. Yeah it does." Hazel snorted.
I sat up and started thinking. "Oh my god. You can't tell Persephone. You have to promise not to tell her. Hazel promise me. Promise me right now." I got on my knees and begged. "Please don't tell."
She rolled her eyes at me. "Of corse I'm not gonna tell her. What do you think I am the devil?" I sighed in relief. "But I do have one request."
Oh no. This could be worse. "What is it?" I sighed.
Hazel grinned evilly. Yup. I'm gonna regret this. "You have to ask him out. Tomorrow." I groaned and flopped back on the couch. "Otherwise I'll tell The Witch." Hazel crosses her arms. That's it. My sister is evil. I will have to warn her boyfriend.
Hazel tapped her foot impatiently. I sighed again. "Alright. I'll ask him out tomorrow." Hazel. Squealed but it was silenced by a question.
"You'll ask who out tomorrow?"
