#8 Hell or Heaven?

Sophie and Jake fell hard on the ground - again.

Or was it ground?

The two friends rubbed their eyes, shaking their heads from unconsciousness. They looked at their surroundings. It was beautiful. Different coloured fish swam everywhere, all in different sizes. The corals were as stunning as ever, planted on ever corner of the ocean.

Wait, they were under the sea?

"Jake, I can't believe it, were under the sea, and were in the giant air bubble!" Sophie gasped, gently touching the air bubble that they were in. It was soft and fluffy.

"Wow, were under the sea?" Jake muttered, "This reminds me of: Under the Sea! Under the Sea! Darling it's better down where it's wetter take it from me!"

Sophie rolled her eyes at him. Jake 'innocently' grinned back. They sat there for a few more minutes, enjoying the view. It felt like paradise, just laying down on a soft, puffy bed, their heads sinking down into the air bubble. Jake and Sophie nearly forgot the main reason why they were in this quest, and that they were still in Wumbelpot.

They did not want to leave, ever.

The woke up to the sound of melodic sounds, and the two friends eyes shot open. Infront of them, they saw two beautiful girls looking at them happily, thrilled that they were alive and awake. Their angelic voices ringed crystal clear through their eyes, giving the two friends a sigh of relief and harmony.

"Hello, my name is Julietta Andante," a girl with a turquoise fish tail, introduced. The scales on her tail glinted in the sunlight above the waters.

"And my name is Angelique Musicanto!" a girl with a magenta and lavender tail. The two girls giggled joyfully, twirling around the water, their faces up high.

"Are you two mermaids?" Sophie and Jake asked in chorus.

The two majestic mermaids looked at each other with surprise, chuckled, and smiled at the two friends.

"Oh no, we aren't!" Julietta explained, "We are Sirenettas, cousins of the famous Sirens from Odysseus!"

Sophie's greeting face immediately morphed into a face of fear, shaking Jake's shoulder rapidly.

"JAKE!" Sophie whispered, frightened, "They're cousins of the Sirens! Remember, Sirens were sea creatures that lure sailors to their deaths because they had such melodic singing and beautiful appearances!?"

However, on the other hand, Jake was staring at the two Sirenettas in awe, "Wha.....what did you say Sally?"

"My name's not Sall....." Sophie was in shock.

Sophie's mouth dropped open, as she looked at a dazed Jake, standing right infront of her - he was under the Sirenettas spell. Sophie shaked his shoulders again, screaming in his ear, and slapping his face - but nothing happened.

"JAKE!" Sophie cried, "WAKE UP!"

Sophie tried to push herself out of the bubble, but however how hard she tried, it would only bounce give her a little bounce back. She screamed, punching the bubble with both fists, trying to get the Sirenetta's attention.

"JULIETTA, ANGELIQUE!" Sophie hollered to the top of her lungs, "STOP THIS RIGHT NOW!"

"Oh, sorry, Welp," Angelique said, mockingly, while Julietta laughed along, "We're just doing our job! Taking prisoners for slaves, to help the Tamacons take over Wumbelpot and the Blue Planet!"

Sophie thought for a moment, and said, "Blue Planet....Earth!? You're helping the Tamacons!? But you're living in the South, the Zightdons side!"

"Well, we betrayed them, we shouldn't have joined them in the first place - Zightdons are powerless Welps! And, of course were helping the Tamacons, you baboon, you're just as empty minded as the rest that came here!" Julietta sneered.

Sophie growled, and demanded, "PLEASE, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS, WHY THE TAMACONS?"

Angelique and Julietta, sang a note, and other Sirenettas came crowding around them. Sophie felt agitated - were they going to attack? At once, a powerful Sirenetta stepped in front of the others, spreading her arms and hands wide open.

"We chooooose, the Tamacons, because veeeeee velieve that ze Tamacons areee ze winning side!" bellowed a Sirenetta, although she looked like she was in a more higher status than the rest. Julietta and Angelique were standing by her side. Her hair was braided into a long plait, that rubies were decorated into. A magnificent tiara stood on her head, "Nooobody wants to lose, and ze Zightdons are losing!"

"So youuu must come with ze us, join us! Both ze Angelique and ze Julietta are transformed Sirenettas!" the Higher Status Sirenetta said sharply, rolling each and every 'r', "I am ze Queen of ze Underworld Ocean, and nobody can deny to me!"

Sophie was trembling, goosebumps were spreading in every corner of her arms and legs. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, and cleared her mind of everything bothering her. The Sirenettas sang, and the dazed Jake walked happily to the Sirenettas. The Sirenettas started singing that they would give everything he wanted, stroking his hair.

Sophie thought to herself, and planned what she would do, "C'mon Sophie, instincts - what did Pumpalot say? The Candle of Dreams will come and help me when I need it to? Pumpalot said that my powers should be something to do with ar- THAT'S IT!"

Sophie immediately set to work. She flipped open her yellow notebook, and started drawing - drawing a world that would be safe for them to cross through to the North of Wumbelpot. Somewhere empty of dangerous monsters, or brain - rattling Sirenettas. A world that was in complete peace and harmony.

Once she ended her last stroke, her hands felt numb, and it was paralyzed. The Sirenettas stared at Sophie, who felt hopeless with a stuck hand, cockily laughed and pointed at her.

Julietta rolled her eyes, and grinned, "What are you gonna do, Welp, gonna just be a hopeless brat?"

Sophie ignored her, and concentrated on her world. She thought of a world without any troubles and dilemmas, that would lead them North safe and sound. She shut her eyes tightly,Sophie's hand immediately glowed with colourful lights. The Sophie and the Sirenettas were shielding their eyes, many moaning with pain. Jake was covered by the Sirenettas, not receiving any light.

Finally, a huge flash of light burst out of nowhere, and the last she saw of the Sirenettas was the disintegrating.
