"So very long story short, you crashed into the freezing ocean and froze, and then we found you as an icicle and melted you and bam you are here. I forgive you for fighting me by the way, I've would have done the same if I was you Captain but...I would have won." Diana informed Rogers. "Call me Steve. I'm not a captain anymore, the war is over." He replied. "Yes your war is over but we have our own war Rogers and maybe you can be a great asset to our team." Fury replied to Steve while looking for hope in his eyes. Fury wants the captain on his team for two reasons, hope and balance. "I don't know if I could survive another war. I am sorry but I cannot do it. I need time." Steve answered. "I understand, but since you don't have a place to stay you can stay at Agent Rigg apartment, she can help you get accustom to this new world until you find your way. Diana's eye opened wide as she was not expecting that. "Um...y-yeah, I guess I will. Steve please excuses me and the director for a second." Diana said as he got up and waited outside the office for the moment. "What are you getting at? No one is supposed to know about my apartment it is my safe haven! It isn't him that bothers me; I'm okay with this assignment but not at my place." Diana said to the director. "We need him to trust us and so you need him to trust you. Your assignment is to get him to be apart on this team. And your new safe haven is in DC, it is better and off the records." Director Fury informed her. She nodded in agreement and shook his hand. He always thought of her as family so he knew that she can be trusted. "Oh, and Diana this stays between us no one else should know, not Hill, Romanoff or Barton. And especially Stark, he will drive that man away." Director Fury said to her while touching the bridge of his nose. She left and found Steve lying back on the wall, "So there is another Stark." He said with a smile. "Yes and believe me when I say, you guys will not get along." Diana laughed. "Come on I am starving and I know you are too because you have been in hibernation for years." Diana said while walking to the elevator.
"Can I get two Jr. Cheese burgers combos please, both with cokes." Diana said into the speaker. "So don't go around telling people you are captain America because people will either think you are either crazy or captain America and will freak out. Shit speaking of freaking out I forgot to call Coulson!" Diana said to Steve and then she grabbed the food from the drive thru cashier. "Tom, call Agent Coulson please and thank you." I said to the little device in my car. "Calling Agent Coulson" the device replied. She turned to see Steve who looked stupefied by the device and by the technology of this generation. "It is called magic." Diana laughed to herself. "Hahaha, so funny." Steve replied. "Coulson here!" the agent said from the other side of the phone which seemed to scare Steve a bit. "Hey, it is Agent Riggs! Just wanted to inform you that sleeping beauty over here is final awake." Diana said through her laughter trying hard to get serious. "Really, he woke up! Um I mean great he woke up." Coulson said trying to deepen his voice and hold back his excitement. "Yes, he is but I also called to remind you that this is top secret stuff, it is very confidential and the only ones that should know that he is alive is Fury, you, and me. So, for the love of god Coulson please don't tell Hill because she will not forgive me for keeping this from her." Diana said while thinking of when everyone will find out about her powers and what will happen. Coulson interrupted her by replying "Okay my lips are locked but if you have any more information, you know where to reach me Agent. Bye." He said and clicked. "He is your number one fan; I mean he knows everything about you. You are his hero." Diana said pulling into her drive way. Steve had a weird feeling about the thought of still having fans, and being called a hero. He felt it was his duty to protect lives and it wasn't anything special. "You are a hero, you destroyed the head of Hydra, just accept it because everyone will call you that." Diana said to him after reading his mind. She walked up to her door and opened it; there were dusty frames of pictures of New York City and some with her family and landscapes of the farm she grew up on. Steve looked at the pictures and at her family and was kind of amazed that she grew up on a farm because she had no accent. Diana went to her window where there was a special picture...the last picture of her and her parents. "You lived on a farm? You don't have an accent." Steve said to Diana which brought her out of her thoughts. "Yeah, well not everyone that lives on a farm has an accent but I don't have one because I have been trained to be many people so I have many accents. I can be French, Russian, British, or Jersey, on command." Diana said switching accents. Steve found this unsettling because how does he know who she really is how can he trust her? "I'm myself right now America, and for the record you don't have to trust me but this place right here is my safe haven and this is all me." Diana said looking at his expressions trying to figure him out. She didn't exactly trust him either, they were just fighting and he made her use her powers. "Let's eat before our burgers get cold." She said taking a seat on the couch and took out her food.
"Can I ask you some questions? It is just I don't know much about you and I have to live with you." Steve asked and explained to Diana. She was taken back by his question, she didn't know to tell lies or too tell the truth to him. "Go ahead...as long as I can ask you questions too." Diana answered thinking at least she will get something out of this too. "Why are you an agent?" he asked. "Because I want to help people, or at least that's what I thought when I got into this." Diana answered. "Having second thoughts, if you weren't here what would you like to be?" he asked. Diana went back to her child hood and thought of when she was in elementary and loved music. "I always loved music, so I would love to be a composer or a music teacher but I am an agent now and I love this job too." Diana lied; she lied about loving her job. She loved the people she worked with but she did not love all the secrets and didn't love what she has turned into. "What about you? What if you weren't an experiment?" Diana asked looking up at his face. Steve never thought about it, what if he never became Captain America, where would he be. "I guess I would have still been in the service. In those days every man and boy wanted to be a soldier. I just wanted to do the right thing, which was to end Nazis." He replied. "Do you see them anymore?" he asked. Diana knew he was talking about her family but she was hesitant to answer. "No, they died. Someone or something killed them when I was just eleven and I haven't been back there since then. That was the day Fury found me and took me in, he can be mean and pushy sometimes but he means well you know." Diana said hinting at the job offer Fury had given him. "Sorry for your loss. I didn't mean to trigger bad memories, but that was good of him to bring you in." he said. It didn't trigger any memories because they were shoved back and that was the past, she wasn't that helpless eleven year old girl anymore. "You have any family that you want to see?" I asked. Steve didn't know, he didn't know if any of his old friends were alive or if Peggy was still alive. "I don't know. I was an only child so my family is not here anymore but my friends, well it has been seventy years." He answered. Diana smiled a little; they were on the same boat. They had no families to go back too but at least they live.
