Chapter 6
"Luckily Victoria, I'll be able to change your pen pal due to a very coincidental situation," Mrs. Davis informed me a few days later in Health.

"And that is?" I asked, trying to sound polite. My voice probably sounded like I sucked the helium out of three goddamn balloons.

"Isaac and his brother will be moving to Connecticut. They'll be moving to a new foster home which happened to be in this state," Mrs.Davis explained, taking a seat at her desk and beginning to organize test scores.

Isaac has a brother?, I thought. Hm. You learn something new every day.

"Oh, okay. So who's my new pen pal then?" I asked, also sitting at a desk near her.

"Here's the sheet with her info on it. Her name is Mila Conner," Mrs. Davis said while handing me the info sheet.

Staring back at me was a picture of a pretty girl with a huge smile on her face. She was either genuinely nice or overly fake. Probably the latter.

Although I hated the fuck out of fake people, I was too relieved to even worry. Isaac wasn't my partner anymore! Hell fucking yeah!

"Thanks Mrs. Davis," I said, giving her a genuine smile.

"Your welcome, dear," she said. "Have a nice day," she added, as I walked out of the classroom. I waved back in appreciation. No more Señor Asshole for me!

As if on cue, my iPhone buzzed in my pocket. Seriously? I groaned.

Can't he just leave me alone now? It's not like I'm his stupid pen pal anymore!

I rolled my eyes in annoyance as I opened the e-mail which read:

Alright this is a little new to me so bear with me. I just wanted to apologize for how I acted. I was just having a bad week and was just taking my anger out on you. So, sorry. Okay, bye.

I snorted in laughter. Way to sound smooth, buddy.

"Well that was an attractive sound."

I looked behind me to see Daniel walking up to me. Boy, did he look hot today. His dark denim jeans hugged his waist perfectly and his sleeveless white v-neck showed off his muscular arms.

I think I kinda drooled.

"You like what you see?" he asked smugly.

"Yeah, I really do!" I said, putting my phone in front of me and making it obvious that I was staring at it and not him.

I know. Pretty lame.

"Wow, princesa. That was pretty lame. Even for you," Daniel said, reading my thoughts exactly.

Chuckling, I slapped him playfully on the arm.

"Ow! Woman, are you on steroids?" Daniel asked with a look of pure horror on his face.

"Stop calling me woman, man!" I retorted. "You're such a wimp," I added, slapping his arm again.

"Ow, I am not!" he said putting on a fake pouty face and popping out his lower lip, holding his arm in mock pain. Drama queen. I wasn't that strong.

"Oh my God Daniel. How old are you, five?" I asked, putting my hand on my hip while staring up at his tall figure.

"Yeah! Tell me something I don't know!" he said in his best attempt at a baby voice.

I was full on laughing my ass off now. I do that a lot lately.

Attempting to make another cheesy joke I started belting out the lyrics of Selena Gomez's "Tell Me Something I Don't Know".

"Princesa, I don't think you could get any cheesier," Daniel claimed chuckling at my failed attempt at singing.

"Tell me something I don't know," I retorted, after I'd stopped singing. Wow, I'm pretty hilarious, ha.

"I stand corrected," Daniel said with a smile. I heard the second bell ring right after Daniel had said that.

Shit!

"Oops. I better get to class. See you later Danny!" I called back, running like hell to Physics.

"Always call me that princesa! I like how it sounds in that beautiful voice of yours!" he called to me as I ran.

What a flirt.

At school the next day, I saw none other than Queen Bitch herself as I walked up to my locker to grab my books.

"Hey Loner," Natalie said turning to me and flicking her long blonde hair over her shoulder. She gave me the fakest smile I'd ever seen.

Regaining my long lost confidence, I decided to fight back for once. What was the worst that could happen? Little did I know that the worst did happen.

I turned to her and gave her an even more fake smile. A little surprised at my response, Natalie's face weakened a little, but then quickly regained its usual look of sass.

"Hey, stupid annoying slut? Are the STD medications still working?" I practically yelled in her face while still trying to pull off my fake smile.

"You little bitch! How dare you talk to me like that!" Natalie yelled like a maniac.

Her voice made my ears hurt. What the fuck? Was she part hyena or something?

Then she pounced on me. I was so tired of her fucking rudeness so I fought back. I threw a punch to her face and she started pulling my hair.

I pulled hers and with her struggle to break free, we both ended up on the floor with me on top of her.

I slapped the living hell out of her face, but just as I was about to throw another punch, she screamed and kicked my chest, pushing me off her.

A bunch of students came over to us. They were in complete shock. The loner beating up the popular girl? That was something you didn't see everyday.

Thank God they didn't try to break us up. I really wanted to beat the living shit out of her because of what she's done to me these past few years.

But what's up with this new sense of courage I feel? It must be Daniel. Having a friend really helped me to regain that spunk I once had way back when.

Now that it's back, I could show Natalie what I got. Finally.

Screaming like a warrior in combat, I tackled her to the ground and threw five punches to her face. I could've sworn I heard her nose crack after the last punch, but I didn't give a shit.

She absolutely deserved it.

Just as I was about to pull at her hair again, a strong pair of arms lifted me off Natalie.

"Stop Daniel! I have to finish this! Do you have any idea how much she's tortured me these past few years!?" I screamed. I kicked my legs out and tried to wriggle free of his grasp.

But when I turned around, it wasn't Daniel behind me.

No, it couldn't be.

Then, complete darkness.
