Chapter fourteen: Echoes and Encounters

Everything's wrong!

Just where exactly did it all go wrong?!!

After his re- transmigration, everything has been so different. He didn't mind it at first, but after some time, he started to notice that everything has took a wrong turn. Edward, Victor, Ryker; they all hated him in his first life. But now, they're all approaching him, acting weirdly and won't just let him be.

And now the Crown Prince too?!! Oh my god, something's definitely wrong. He could vividly remember that, in his first life, the Crown Prince was the one who personally worked hand to hand with Ryker, just to see to his demise. And because of that, Leo made a mental note to avoid the Crown Prince as well.

But now the Crown Prince is here and he's telling him that he likes him?!! Are you kidding me?!! They haven't even crossed path with each other since he transmigrated, So how the fuck is that even possible?!!

Prince Adrian's lips were just seconds away from fulling landing on Leo's lips when suddenly, a familiar voice called out.

"Hey Leo!"

That brought Leo out of his shocked trance as he quickly put some distance between him and Prince Adrian. He averted his gaze to the side and spotted Ryker walking towards their direction with his hands stuffed in his pocket, a slight smirk on his lips. He got to where they were and draped an arm over Leo's shoulder, drawing him closer to him.

" Hey, where have you been?.. I've been looking all over for you" he said, totally ignoring Prince Adrian's presence.

"Just got out of art class and Prince Adrian stopped me for a little chat" Leo said, not knowing why he had the urge to explain. It was then that Ryker averted his gaze to Prince Adrian, "What a surprise. I didn't know that you and Leo were acquainted".

Prince Adrian smiled slightly and said, "What can I say, Leo's quite... interesting". A glint flashed passed his emerald green eyes as he glanced at Leo. Leo gulped and shuddered slightly.

Ryker noticed the look that Prince Adrian gave Leo and subconsciously tightened his jaw as he pulled Leo even more closer to him. He could tell that Prince Adrian was actually interested in Leo but he couldn't explain the uneasy feeling that was slowly rising up in his chest.

"I was just about to head down to House Ferrum to practice swordsmanship. Would you like to join me, Leo?" Prince Adrian asked calmly, extending his hand towards Leo.

"Uh ..." Leo glanced at the outstretched palm with a gaze of uncertainty.

"Sorry, but Leo and I have plans. Isn't that right, Leo?" Ryker said, glancing at Leo with a slightly arched brow.

"Uh... Yes, we do have plans. I'm sorry Crown Prince but today's an inconvenient time to hang out with you. Maybe some other time". Leo said with an apologetic (not so apologetic) smile.

"Oh... I see" Prince Adrian replied, the slight smile on his face slowly disappearing.

"Maybe, one of these days, I'll come over to the palace to spar with you, see if there's an improvement on our swordsmanship..."

"Yes... I look forward to that day" Prince Adrian gave a stiff smile and averted his gaze to Leo, "Well, goodbye then. Until we met again Leo.."

"Yeah.. bye"

"See ya later Adrian.."

Without waiting for a response, Ryker grabbed Leo by the hand and took him away. Leo pursed his lips and silently followed him. Ryker looked calm at the surface but beneath, he was having a fierce battle in his mind.
