Chapter twelve: "If you want my forgiveness, you've gotta earn it"

Victor stared at Leo dumbfounded, still unsure of what he just heard.

Leo gulped and continued, "I'm.. sorry. I'm sorry for attacking you, I'm sorry for trying to poison you and Edward so many times, I'm sorry for all the hurtful words I've ever said to you. I'm sorry for ruining so many things for you and I'm sorry for treating you and Edward badly. I shouldn't have done all that to you, I shouldn't have treated you the way I did. I regret it all and I'm ready to make amends for everything I did. I'm just hoping that you'll find somewhere in your heart to forgive me for everything that I've ever done to you".

Victor stared at Leo with furrowed brows and slightly parted lips, an expression on his face like he just heard the most stupidest thing on earth.

The atmosphere was tense and there was a thick silence between the two. As every second passed by, Leo grew more nervous thinking about what Victor's response would be. Suddenly, Victor burst out in hysterical laughter, his voice deep and very attractive.

Leo frowned slightly in confusion, Hmm? What's so funny?

Suddenly, the laughter stopped and a deep frown appeared on Victor's handsome face. Victor shot out and grabbed Leo's collar, yanking him close as their faces were just inches apart. He sneered, his voice low and deep, "What games are you trying to play huh? Is this another one of your schemes? Do you really think I'm that foolish to fall for it? To be honest, I preferred it if you'd just attack me head on. I'll take on every one of your attacks and not back down from it. I'm not afraid of you bastard! Strike me once and I'll strike back twice. Don't think you can fool me with your cheap fake apology".

" I'm not trying to fool anyone! I'm being serious here!" Leo retorted, trying to pry off Victor's grip on his collar but Victor tightened his grip even more, "So am I".

Leo gulped silently and said, "Look, I know that you must really hate me right now and I don't blame you, I'd hate me too if I were you. But everything's different now, I— "

"Different?" Victor's deep chuckle sounded in the silent room, which Leo found his deep voice strangely pleasant in the ear. " How so exactly? Because I don't see any difference here".

" I'm not trying to pull off any schemes here. I mean it this time. I'm ready to make amends for everything. Just... Just tell me what I have to do for you to believe me, I'll do anything".

Victor arched a brow and slowly tilted his head, "Anything?". Leo gulped and slowly nodded. Victor gazed at him for a moment and just then, his lips curved up to an amused smirk. He drew in dangerously close and muttered in a low husky voice, "Well, if you want my forgiveness , you've gotta earn it". His dark eyes flashing with mischievous glints.

Leo's cheeks flushed slight pink due to how close their faces were. He could feel Victor's hot manly breath gently brush his cheeks, making them flush even more.

Ah! What's with them and getting too close to my face ah (⁠╥⁠﹏⁠╥⁠)?!!! This is so not normal!

"W...what d..do I have t..to do to e..earn it?" Leo stuttered nervously, feeling slightly uncomfortable at the promixity of how close their faces were, an inch more and their lips will touch.

Suddenly, Victor pushed Leo away, causing him to stumble but Victor could care less. He plopped himself on the couch and crossed his arms above his head, "I'm suddenly craving for toast and scrambled eggs. Be of use and go make some for me".

"What?! But i— "

"You said you'd do anything to earn my forgiveness, if you want to do that, you'll have to make yourself useful to me. Now don't let me repeat myself. And also add a glass of red wine with that. Now leave my sight, your fucking presence is making me sick in the stomach" Victor 'shoo'ed him away with a wave of his hand and adjusted into a more comfortable position on the couch.
