Chapter 8

*six months later*
MAL'S POV
I woke up in Ben's arms, we had had a disney movie party thing and wow it was fun! I looked around my room. Evie wasn't here. I checked my phone. OH CRAP. I'm so late! I re-checked my phone only to find out it was saturday. And tomorrow was my Seventeenth birthday. "Morning." Ben said. I smiled. "Morning." I said back, happily. "I've gotta go- king stuff." He sighed, looking at the time. "Okay!" I said, trying to mask my sadness. He left.
BEN'S POV
I left Mal's room and went to mine to get ready. Then I headed to Jay's and Carlos' room. Evie, Lonnie, Jane, Jay, Doug, Chad and Carlos were there. We're planning Mal's birthday surprise. I'm so excited for tomorrow! Even my parents are in it!
MAL'S POV
I couldn't find ANYONE! I went over to Belle but she said she hadn't seen them and she was busy. So I had headed to the basketball court and began to shoot some hoops. I'd been there for ages! I was beginning to get bored when Evie came and found me. "So, M. Do you want a birthday party?" She asked. I thought about it. Normally birthdays would just mean aging up and continuing with your day. The thought of having a party Just for me seemed odd. I shook my head. "I mean, It'd be nice to know people cared, but I am used to people not caring about it. And, I mean, who'd throw one for me anyway?" I said.
EVIE'S POV
*a few minutes earlier*
"Hey, Doug." I said, greeting my boyfriend. "Hey, wow Mal's surprise is keeping us really busy, right?" He said. I nodded my head. "Yea! But she's my bestie and Sister, to me It's totally worth it." I said. "Do you want to be my date to Mal's party?" Doug said nervously. I smiled and nodded. "Who'd I go with if you hadn't asked? I will go with nobody else but my boyfriend." I said. He smiled. "Gotta go!" He said, still smiling. "Bye!" I said, kissing him before he left. I went to find Mal. I'm so glad she decided to let her hair grow, now it goes up to just below her chest area. I found her shooting some hoops.
* The present*
"So, M. Do you want a birthday party?" I asked. She seemed to think about it. Then she shook her head. "I mean, It'd be nice to know people cared, but I am used to people not caring about it. And, I mean, who'd throw one for me anyway?" She said. Oh Mal, you have No idea... I nodded, pretending to understand. "Wanna watch movies? Girl's night?" I said. I had to keep her away from Ben and away from the castle. They were preparing her birthday party there! Oh I'm excited! She nodded her head. "Sure," She said happy. "I wish my boyfriend was here though..." She muttered. I pretended not to notice. "Movie night!" I screamed. After nine movies, she fell asleep. Perfect, I thought. Tomorrow's her birthday surprise! Eeeek!
