I hadn't gone to the bar all week hoping the guy would just get out of my head. I had felt something last time. Almost like I was... attracted to him. I shaked the feeling out of my head. I had done everything to distract myself. Singing, reading, and what not. Everytime I go to the bookstore I see the bar almost as if it was taunting me. Finally I gave in.
"Can I get two Jim Beam's neat please." I ask as I feel de ja vu. The guy turns around looking as handsome as ever. I fight the urge to just flirt with him.
We get into a conversation until I grab my book and he goes back to work. He leaves the bar open for me an extra half hour and I thank him. He even poured me an extra drink. No one has ever been so kind to me like that. He finally introduced himself to me. Jake, I think to myself, nice name. I look around the empty bar until my eyes land on the piano. I ask if him if he could play me somthing. He starts playing Hallelujah and I get excited. I start singing. Then he joins.
The way he looks at me while singing made me feel butterflies. I felt captivated like in a spell. "...drew the Hallelujah." He finishs letting me sing the rest. After we finished I knew there was no way I was going to avoid him ever again. It feels like he knows me, and he would never hurt me. It was almost like I was falling. Hard.
