The Big Date

I was so nervous for our date, I put on several different outfits before I decided on a soft flannel, burgundy beanie, some jeans and Timberlands. I sprayed on a little cologne, tossed on my jacket, packed my scarf just in case, grabbed the picnic basket and looked at myself in the mirror one last time before I headed out the door. I
hadn't sweat over a girl like this since high school, Jessica wasn't like other girls though. I got in my car and started imagining our date and hoping it would go well as I drove on the streets of L.A. When I got to the front of the bar Jessica was there waiting for me in a little black dress and heels and an open peacoat almost like she was begging for me to jump her bones right there. Her perfect dark brown hair was curled to perfection and her vibrant green eyes just popped. She was stunning. She was always stunning. As I got out of the car she hollered at me,
"You're late."
"You're early." I laughed a bit because I was only two minutes late.
"Where are you taking me?"
"It's a surprise, just get in the car."
"Is this the part where you kidnap me and take me back to your lair and you extract my organs? I've been getting an organ harvester vibe from you."
"I guess you will never know until you get in the car." I scoffed and opened the door for her and as she climbed in I shut it behind her. I guess me not harvesting her organs was just an utter disappointment. We drove around the city and we pulled into a lot behind an abandoned building.
"See Jake, I knew you were going to harvest my organs. Can I get a five second head start so i can run away?"
"In your dreams." I pulled out the picnic basket full of pasta, a bottle of red wine and a nice salad and I led her up to the top of the roof of the abandoned building and I set out the picnic blanket. I saw the puzzled look on her face and I said,
"Wait until it gets dark, you'll see what I mean." We waited for darkness for about fifteen minutes and instantly the whole city lit up and you could hear the soul music festival from a few blocks away. It was heaven and I got to share it with an angel sitting right next to me. I popped open the wine and gave Jessica her pasta and salad, man could that girl eat. I loved it! She put away two helpings of each thing and as a whiskey girl she handled her wine like a champ. Is it too early to be in love? I'm kidding, I'm kidding. As we listened to the music from the festival I thought I would explain to her the place,
"I've been coming up here since I was thirteen. It's a peaceful, yet inspirational place. I've heard many great songs from up here and the view is incredible. I thought you might enjoy.
"I do. This is the best place I've been to in L.A so far." I saw her shudder and I noticed she was getting cold so I wrapped my jacket around her and she batted it away.
"Let me help you." She reluctantly accepted the jacket and she bit her lip and smirked at me and I went weak in the knees. I took a sip of wine and took in the music around us. It was all magical and going better than I planned and suddenly as I shifted my arms I felt my hands brush Jessica's and I got uncontrollable butterflies and I looked at her and instantaneously she looked at me. This was it. She was giving me those kiss me eyes. I slowly leaned in and I planted a soft kiss on her lips. I felt the fireworks going off as our lips were in a lock that transcended time and space.
