Waking up the next day I was determined to forget all of my silly thoughts about Noah Pierce and his stupid green eyes. I knew we had class together, but as long as I showed up late we wouldn’t have to sit by each other, and I would be Noah Pierce free the entire weekend. Besides it’s Friday, and that meant time to get our party on so I wasn’t going to dwell on it any longer.
Pulling on my dark blue skinny jeans, hot pink tee that hugged me just right, and pulling my hair into a side ponytail, I woke Tori up so we wouldn’t be late.
“You know, I can’t wait to see Trey sitting at the lunch table waiting for me,” she said giggling as she threw on leggings and a long tee belted at the waist.
“Crap, I completely forgot about that,” I said. Well, there goes my plan of being able to ignore him. Feeling my mood switch to annoyed as we finally made it into the car; I blasted some Beyonce to pick it right back up.
Luckily I had already made it through two classes without really thinking about Noah. Running into class as the bell rang I looked around noticing the only seat empty was the one right next to Noah. Rolling my eyes at my luck, I slammed my notebook on the desk and tried to focus on the drawing I had started earlier this week of me and Tori at the bar.
“So, we never finished,” Noah’s voice broke into my thoughts as I sensed him lean towards me and finally felt his breath in my ear.
“What?” I asked partly confused and partly trying to not let how close he was affect me.
“The game, it’s my turn….truth or dare?” he asked. I looked up and straight into his eyes to see if he was serious….and he definitely was.
“Um, I guess truth…” I answered not sure if I wanted to keep playing.
“Okay then,” he said rubbing his hands together a gleam in his eyes. I immediately regretted choosing to answer another question about myself. “Why does Tommy live with you?” he asked catching me off guard.
“Nope, not gonna answer it,” I said uncomfortable with how deep his questions were getting.
“Why? Are you scared to answer?” he asked taunting me.
“No, but we’re not close enough for me to start answering questions like that,” I replied honestly.
“Okay, so you’re saying you want more shallow questions?” he asked not seeming bothered that I wouldn’t answer his first question. Maybe he wasn’t so bad after all.
“That’s what I’m saying, I guess,” I nodded my head.
“Tell me about your first kiss,” he said.
“Um,” I said wondering if I should let him know just how inexperienced I was. “Why are we even playing this again?” I asked to take focus off of me.
“Because we never finished.” He said with a duh look on his face.
“We don’t have to keep going, it’s completely fine. I think we can work with what we have.” I told him looking back at my drawing.
“Gabrielle,” Noah said leaning close to me again. “I want to finish, how about we turn it into a real game, meaning with a winner and a loser. The loser has to do something the other person asks at the end.” He said.
