2021 UPDATE: A PREFACE TO BOYS FOR HIREI began writing Boys For Hire when I was very young. It means a lot to me as someone who is now in their 20's pursuing a career in writing. I've considered relaunching and rewriting, but a part of me can't bring myself to tamper with what was a really important part of my childhood. Perhaps in the future, but this story represents a lot more to me then some may believe.
To those looking to reread, or those starting this story,
thank you sincerely, for picking up this little thing I called Boys For Hire.
Also thank you to everyone for getting this book to 100K!

"So," He holds out his hand to me. "Which one of us would you like to date? Or are you daring enough to take us all on at the same time?" He smirks and winks at the same time, reaching for my hand.
"N-" I freeze up, dropping my bags and everything I had been holding to the floor. "No—no way!!!" I push past the brilliant light and run as fast as I can, my face as red as a beetroot. Pulling up my hood, I dash into the alleyway and sprint back home.
Today, was an absolute nightmare. I remember when everything was normal, like this morning. I woke up late, again, to my mother banging on my door.
"Chi! Chi!? Have you been up late playing those stupid games again, let's go!!" My mother calls from the boundary between the outside wall and my sweet haven of solitude.
I groan, slipping on my school uniform then a baggy grey jumper on top. I hurry down the stairs not bothering to brush my tangled brown hair.
"I was wondering if you'd ever get up—Hey!" My mum chastises as she's cut off by my unhesitant scurry for nutrients.
I snatch a piece of toast from my mother's hand and grab my bag, filling it with all kinds of trash food for school. I don't even bother to pack it neatly—I'd bother with that when I can wake up on time. Yeah, never.
"Jeez, maybe that thing really is the right thing for you..." She mutters, but then picks up the phone, but I'm too caught up in my bread scoffing that I don't notice. "Swallow your food before you speak! Now hurry up!"
I run out the door and sprint to the school bus, which I stop by jumping in front of it. If school was to be the death of me I may as well make a buck out of it am I right? I hurriedly hop onto the bus, only to be met with the mocking laughter of my fellow 'classmates'.
"Weaboo!"
"Nerd!"
"Go die loser."
I sit down reluctantly on the bus seat.
"I hear she plays dating simulators."
"God, is she that desperate?"
I hear the girls behind me laugh and I sigh at their stupidity. What a bunch of classic bitches...
The rest of the school day often goes on like this. Class, harass, lunch, class, harass, my day couldn't be more perfectly planned out. But then, after school...
The school bell rang and everyone quickly rushed out of the room, a few staying by to push me into a wall. As I drag myself out of school, there's a commotion at the gate, and for once in my life all the attention is on someone else, aiding me to slip by invisibly.
"Whoa, did you see that guy with the brown jacket? Totally hot."
"But the guy with the blonde hair is totally cute! Look he's even jumping around like a little kid! Aww!"
"But look at the guy with the glasses, he looks so mature, dreamy..."
Suddenly interested, I jump up so I can see over the shoulders of everyone in the crowd, me being as short as hell. A classic 155cm of prepubescent goodness. There I saw it, seven perfect beings that I could only dream of seeing in an anime.
"Tch, get a hold of yourself Chi, you've got the new addition of Call of Borderlands today... Get yourself together!!" Oh... the thought of the action packed adventure waiting for me in that tiny little disc. I drool in my mind. Quickly slipping past the crowd of swarming girls and gawking guys, I make it past the gate only to be grabbed by someone.
"Hey you!" I look around in shock to see one of the seven boys holding the sleeve of my grey jacket. "The girl in the grey, huh? You must be Arian Chiseki?"
I nod meekly—aware of all the unwanted attention I'm getting. When I make the tiny gesture of approval the man's face flips from totally formal to joyfully happy in a split second.
"Nice to meet you! So, which one of us would you like to date? Or are you daring enough to take on all of us at the same time?"
And I guess that's how I ended up here, panting and sweaty from sprinting 50 miles an hour back home to see my mum grinning at the door.
"Huh?" She looks around questionably. "Where are those boys I hired?"
"WHAT!?"
She nods and smiles happily. "That's right! I used that service, you know the one that helps out unpopular girls? Boys For Hire!"
I feel my knees wobble. "N-no way..." I sink down to my knees, hands on my head.
"Excuse me miss?" I hear a boyish voice behind me, followed by six other pairs footsteps. I turn around to see the seven boys from school. He smiles.
"Excuse me, but we're your Boys for Hire! Please treat us carefully."
