I begrudgingly walk the long and less obvious way to school, crossing more crossings and taking more streets, hoping I made it far enough without those boys catching me.

"What's up with the whole 'Boys for Hire' thing anyway? Isn't that a bit sick? I mean, it's basically prostitution..."

I freeze up and rethink what they do. Oh good god, mum basically hired manwhores to follow me around... What is this Ouran High!? I roll my eyes and keep walking as the traffic man turned green, but then I feel a tug on my hand. I turn around, only to be met with the face of the person I least wanted to see.

"Chiii~ Why'd you leave so soon? Oh did you really wanna walk alone with me?" Shiroi holds my hand tight, definitely not letting go. I heave an obvious groan before whipping around to walk across the road. As soon as I take the first few steps across the road, I hear screaming.

"GET OFF THE ROAD!"

"MOVE IT!"

I look to my left to see two blinking lights coming at me, and fast.

There's nothing for a few moments, a rush of wind passes me and I feel a pull on my body.

That's because a certain someone is below me squeezing my stomach as tight as possible. "C-Chi... Are you okay?" A dizzy Shiroi lies below me, clutching at my waist protectively. I look around the street to see curious and worried bystanders. Jesus, I swear the traffic man was green, bloody speeders... Just what I need today.

"Hey, are two okay?" A few girls from my school, who were probably walking there on the same route as us, come to check how we are. I look up from my black rabbit hood and all their kindness and consideration drained instantly, replaced with malice and disgust. That look... It gets me every time. "Oh... It's you..."  One of the girls sneer at me. "That truck really would've done us a favour." She mutters, drawing the attention of other bystanders. I look at my surroundings and cower behind the black material of my hood. Stares. Everyone's staring at me in confusion, angst, curiosity, I hate it. I really wish there was a hole I could crawl into.

"That was super duper un-called for!" Shiroi stands in front of me, shielding me. Wow, he's actually... Helping me? "Even though she might've pushed that boy off the roof, she's still a good person through and through!"

Oh shit. You fucking...

"She pushed a boy? Disgraceful..."

"I-Isn't she in high school...?"

"Mummy, I'm scared...!"

"Don't look, honey!"

I look around. All the curious stares turned into the same stares everyone at school gives me.

"Are you friends with her? Your cute but you must be an airhead."

Another one of my 'classmates' glare at the small boy defending me. As the girls start dishing out more insults, Shiroi, who is normally accompanied by at least one of the other boys, becomes overwhelmed trying to fight by himself. As they continue their rants and raves, I decide enough is enough. Stepping in front of him, I pull down my black hood and slide a menacing stare at all three of the girls.

"You think I killed that boy, yes? Do you really think it's smart to go up against me with that in mind?" I glare and they falter a bit, I take that chance to leave silently and willingly.

"Shiroi, come."

"Y-Yeah!"

I cross the street, ignoring the stares of the public, Shiroi solemnly trailing behind in regret and guilt. When we pass the bakers and cross another street, he finally decides to speak.

"I'm sorry... I-I was just trying-"

"To help? Well thanks a lot." I speak to him harshly and he cowers behind me.

"S-So... Did you...? I want to hear it myself, did you kill that boy?"

I stop and turn around, so I'm facing him directly. "Yes, I did." Fear flashes through his eyes and he averts his gaze.

"Y-You didn't even hesitate..."

I grip my jacket tightly, grimacing. "Blood doesn't show on black cloth..."

While looking down onto the stony concrete of the sidewalk, I can still feel Shiroi's gaze burning into me. "Your lying."

"What?"

"Your lying aren't you. You lied to scare those girls and protect me."

Okay... Maybe he isn't as airheaded as everyone makes him out to be. I roll my eyes and fold my arms, quickly pulling my hood over. I turn around to start walking.

"Why? You basically made yourself a public target." He quickly catches up to me and I give him another quick glare. "S-Sorry... I'm not very good with... Reading people's emotions... I guess you can say I'm kinda numb to obvious things."

"No kidding." He giggles softly and I give him a quick smile. "You're cute Shiroi, I'll give ya' that. Just be careful what you say to other people okay? Your mindless and insensitive," His eyes droop down like a sad dog's ears. "But I think that's a good thing, your like a breath of fresh air from the assholes in this world. Other people might think your stupid, but I think your wonderful." I grin at him and his face goes red.

"T-Thank you...!"
