Bella's P.O.V.

"Please don't leave me Gally!" I scream.
I cradled my brothers dead body in my hand.
Thomas killed him, he beat Gally to death right in front of me.

"Gally no!"

I woke with a jerk breathing heavily.
I was in another room, it was dark and I felt like I was strapped to a chair.

"Hey guys, shes awake" says a female voice and the lights flicker on and a bunch of girls are gathered around me.

"Hey stick" a girl with warm brown skin and long brown dreadlocks that fall past her shoulders says.

"The names Harriet, so you going to tell us who you are?"

"My name is Bella and where the hell am I, why am I strapped to a chair?" I ask.

"Relax its alright your safe here with us, they can't harm you now, and we didn't tie you to the chair, you were like that as soon as we walked into the room" she says.

"Safe from who?" I ask.

"Thomas and that group A" she says.

"What?" I ask.

"You don't remember?, Teresa told us everything" Harriet says.

"What I told you is the truth Harriet, Bella's just finding it difficult to remember" a voice says coming out of the circle of girls, it's Teresa.

"Teresa?"

"It's ok Bella your safe now" she says releasing me from the strapped chair.

Teresa wasn't making any sense, she knows the lads wouldn't harm us so why is she saying it to group B.
Unless Wicked did something to her?
But they wouldn't they have done the same to me too?

"Well Bella, welcome to group B" Harriet says and shakes my hand.

I really didn't mind group B but I wish that was back in my old group, group A.
Teresa wasn't making any sense what so ever to me. She keeps telling Group B that Thomas and the other boys didn't really like us and that they used to bully us all the time and that Thomas was the worst.

I don't think Harriet really trusts her, but the rest of the girls seem to trust Teresa.
I don't for a split second, shes up to something.

"Ok girls we need to go now" Teresa says.

"Where?" I ask.

"To meet Janson, and head into the Flat Tran" Harriet says.

"What's a Flat Tran?"I ask.

"You sure do ask a lot of questions my friend, a Flat Tran is like a portal, Janson explained it to us when you were unconscious" Harriet says.

"We need to go now!" Teresa commands.
And walks out of the room the other girls following her.

"Since when is she in charge?" I ask Harriet.

"Since she woke up, she thinks she knows everything" Harriet says.

"And do you trust her?" I ask.

"No, not really, but all the girls believe her, so then I guess I have to believe her too" Harriet says and jogs on to catch up with the rest of the group, me following her behind.

Their was a man wearing a white suit, at a desk sitting down, his feet propped up and crossed at the ankles.

What in the world?

"Welcome ladies, now its time to begin phase two, The Scorch Trials." he says. "The Flat Tran will take you underground tunnels through The Scorch and there's another thing as well, if you wish to receive the cure when you arrive in Safe Haven, you must kill Thomas."

"What?"

"Do I have to repeat myself again?" he asks.

"No" I say.

"Well ok, let phase two begin" he says and walks away from behind us.

An invisible shield appeared. It turned opaque, fogging to a splotchy white- a large section of it transferring into a flat, shimmery surface of grey.

Teresa was standing next to me.

"What do you think we're going to find out there?" I ask her.

"I don't know" she says and lets out a sigh and steps into the Flat Tran, me following behind her.

Utter darkness.

Black.

That's what we found.

Walking. Time passed slowly.

A girl screamed a few dozen feet behind me.

I stopped dead at my tracks.

Something wasn't right.

But the girl was now screaming like an animal.

"What's wrong?" I shouted.

The screams gurgled to a stop. I reached forward with my hands to find her face.
But their was no head. Instead there was and perfectly smooth ball of cold metal. Then the ball slipped from under my fingers and rolled away, until it thumped into the closest wall and came to a stop. I felt a thick wetness on my hands.

Blood.

"We need to go" I muttered out loud. "We need to go" I shouted up to Teresa and Harriet.

"Bella! What happened?"

Scooting backwards away from the body, I stumbled against a wall as I started wiping my hands off my pants.

"It was like a.....a big.....metal ball. A metal ball!" I say my voice clearly shaky.

"What are you talking about?" Teresa asks.

"We need to run" I say. "We need to go. Now."

No one says anything and we set off running. We run, run as fast as we could.
