The trees might have been dead but the branches scratched my skin. The moon shone brightly in the moonlight. Teresa kept walking in silence.
I finally had the courage to speak.
"Where're we going?" And you expect me to believe that was an act, Teresa. Why didn't you stop the rest when they were about to kill Thomas?"

Her answer was strange. "You've met Aris right?" She didn't break her stride, just kept moving.
Thomas and I both stopped for a second, completely taken aback.
"Aris? How do you even know about him? What's he got to do with this?" Thomas asks.

We decided to catch up with her.
"I happen to know Aris very well" she says in a tight voice. "Much better than you're going to like. Not only was he a big part of my life before the Maze, he and I can speak in our minds, like Bella and Newt and like you and I used to do Thomas. Even when I was in the Glade, we communicated all the time. And we eventually put us back together."

"How do you know Newt and I could speak to each other in our minds?" I ask.

"I could hear your thoughts when you'd talk to Newt, Thomas even heard them didn't you Thomas?" Teresa asks with a smirk spread across her face.
I looked at her, straight to Thomas.

"Its over. Aris and I are going to do what we are told to do, and life goes on. WICKED'S all that matters now. Thats it."

"What are you talking about?" Thomas asks.
Teresa looked past him. I looked over and see Aris appear behind from the trees. Holding a knife.
"Tom" Teresa says. "Aris is right behind you, he has a very big knife. Bella if you try run away and he'll slice Thomas's neck. You two are coming with us and you're gonna do exactly what we tell ye two. Understand?"

I stared at Teresa with rage. I've never felt so angry in all my life.
"Say hi, Aris" teresa says and the worst thing she did was smile.

"Hi tommy, hi Bella" the boy says from behind. "Such a thrill to be with you again."
The point of his knife just touched Thomas's back.
Thomas remained silence.

"Well," Teresa says. "At least you're acting like grown-ups about this. Just keep following me- we're almost there."

"Where are we going?" I ask.

"You'll find out soon enough" Teresa says and starts walking through the trees, I had no other choice but to follow her, or Aris would have slit Thomas's throat.

I tried to understand all of this the least person I would expect to be a traitor to the group would be Teresa, we acted like sisters inside the Glade, but now I realised it was all an act, that she had to put on to impress Wicked.

"We're here" Teresa says looking at Aris.
"Yep we're here all right. You're serious about him talking the others into sparing him? What is he, some kind of super psychologist?"

"It kind of helped, actually. Made it easier to get him here."
Teresa threw a condescending glance towards Thomas, then crossed the cave to Aris. As Thomas and I watched, she stood on her toes to kiss Arid on the cheek and grinned.
"I'm so glad we're back together."
Aris smiled.

"I did not see that one coming" I say.
Teresa and Aris shot me an evil glance. Then Teresa smirked.
"Like the way we didn't see the part of you and Thomas coming true either now did we?"

I really wanted to punch that grin off her face right now but Thomas held me back.
"Your such a cheater Bella, your in love with Newt, a perfect boyfriend a true gentleman towards you, but then you go and kiss Thomas and now you have feelings for Thomas, how low can possible get, Bella, mhm, you use people to the best of your ability."
