They went back out to where the cars were parked.
"so are you going to answer Dena's question?"
"What question?"
"do you love me more than the baby?"
"You're always my number one."
" that's not what she asked."
He sighed. "Yes. I love you more."
" Damon, why did you say it like that?"
"Like what?"
" why did you sigh? If you don't love me more than the baby that's okay. It doesn't matter."
Because I'm tired. My brain was fried. And I do love you more."
"okay. I love you more than our baby too."
"You know what's going to be one of the best feelings you're going to have? That feeling when you hold that baby and see his or her face for the first time. Motherly love. And motherly love is one of the most powerful things in the world." He gave her a smile.
" Damon, ill always love you more than anyone."
"I know," He smiled.
" I feel bad for yelling at Dena. I told her im not her aunt and I told her never to call me antie Lena again."
"It's okay. I'm sure she'll forgive you."
" I don't know. She got out of the car and she asked if I was okay and I screamed at her and she started to cry."
"Oh. Well then she might take a little warming up to then."
" I feel bad. What if she's scared of me? What if I do that to our child and he hates me?"
"He?"
" I think its a boy."
"Really?" Damon smiled.
" yeah. You know your dad wants a grandson right?"
"Does he?"
" yeah."
"Well he might get one if we really are having a boy. Although I'll feel sorry for you and all of mankind if he takes after me." Damon laughed.
Elena smiled.
He smiled back.
" I love you."
" I love you too."
" I know you do."
"Good."
" I have to tell you something. I think our baby loves you too."
"What makes you say that?"
" He moved."
"What?" Damon felt excited.
" yeah." She grabbed him hand and put it on her stomach. " the baby's been moving since you said you loved me too."
"Holy sh-" He caught himself. He couldn't believe what he was feeling. His smile grew with every movement he felt.
" do you love Daddy?" The baby moved more.
Damon laughed. "Wait, isn't it too early for this?"
" Yeah, but its supernatural so who knows."
"True." He smiled.
" our baby loves you."
"Our baby loves you too." He knelt down so he was closer to her stomach. "Isn't that right? Don't you love Mommy?"
