Flora.
I sit down at the desk, he literally hasn't moved anything. I mean besides the stuff he may have needed and the empty coffee cups. The pens are still in the same place, the password on the computer is still mine. I breathe a heavy sigh, never ever thought I'd be doing this again.
Harry promised he'd fill me in but got a call and has retreated into his office with the second coffee I got him. I watch the computer screen load with a yawn, I didn't sleep too well last night. I notice I have 43 unread emails, only one dated recently.
'Re: Flora To Do.
- Call design, book appointment for SS previews tomorrow morning. - - Distract me from all the stuff I have to do after being away for two weeks.
Delete this email after you read it, I don't anyone in IT to think I'm not a strict boss'
I smile, deleting the email as requested and picking up my phone. I type a text to Harry.
'How can I distract you when you're on the phone?' before dialing the extension for the design department.

It's half 8 and Harry has been in a board room meeting since 3 o clock, despite having been on the phone all day prior to that. I've spent all afternoon redoing the files - they seem to have gotten pretty muddled since I left. It's probably the most boring job going and I took my heels off long ago, no one has come in since the office packed up at half 5 but I want to wait for Harry, seeing as I still haven't spoken to him.
I decided when I reach the last cabinet that I can't take anymore files, this is not a job that was meant to be done all in one day. I head over to Harry's desk, sitting down in the leather chair with a sigh. Not daring to close my eyes or I know I'll fall asleep.
I look at Harry's desk, it's messier than normal - I suppose because he's been so busy. I pick up a pen absent mindedly, turning the cool metal over in my hands. I look up with a jump as the door clicks open and Harry is there.
"Making ourselves at home are we?" He says, as I place his pen back hastily.
"I was having a rest, I did your filing" I say, sitting up straighter. He looks exhausted, his hair has flopped out of style and his shirt sleeves are scruffily rolled. He walks over, dumping the mac on the desk and I didn't realise quite how dark it's gotten in here, the orange city light shining through the huge windows was enough to work under.
"Thanks, I appreciate it" He says.
"I'm not quite finished, I gave up just now" I sigh, standing up and going to put my heels back on where I discarded them, the balls of my feet aching again instantly as I wince.
"Are you okay? Have you eaten?" He asks, eyeing me wearily. I can tell he's at the end of his tether from whatever happened in the conference.
"I'm fine" I smile going through to my desk to collect my bag and jacket.
I drift off on the drive home, Harry is clearly not in the mood to talk, his voice is even huskier than normal from all the talking he did in the meeting. He nudges me awake when we reach his house and I hurry across his gravel through the freezing air, giving a small whine of dis-satisfaction about leaving the heated seats of the car.
"You should eat, I'll make you something" He says.
"Aren't you going to eat too?" I ask. He shakes his head and I note the dark circles under his eyes, looks like Milan has tired him out.
"I'll do it, you can go to bed if you want.. you look shattered" I say, looking over his chiseled features.
"Alright.. see you in a minute" He says, stifling a yawn and kicking his shoes off in the hall before heading up the stairs, I abandoned mine as soon as we got in the door. I decide to make a sandwich, clearing up as I go - even though Klaudia will be here in the morning. We almost made friends while Harry was away and now I feel bad leaving mess deliberately.
I head upstairs, sandwich in one hand, a cup of green tea for Harry in the other. I enter the bedroom to find him already in bed in his underwear staring blankly at whatever's on TV, his eyelids heavy, he looks over to me, sitting up a little.
"I made you a cup of tea" I say, placing it on the bedside table next to him.
"Thanks, I should pay you more" He says, so relaxed his voice is a low mumble. I shrug, wondering if he's tired enough not to moan about the crumbs I leave in his bed.
I sit down on the bed, starting to unbutton my shirt and watching him drowsily staring at the TV, it's kind of cute watching Harry not be so.. Harry. I slide the shirt off, going over to put it in the washing basket.
"Why is your skirt unzipped?" Harry asks, shit I forgot about that.
"It doesn't do up anymore" I say with a heavy sigh, unzipping it fully and pulling it off, hanging it over the back of the chair.
"Ah the wardrobe issue from this morning?" He says.
"Yeah, this happened while you were away" I say, turning to the side to show him my new belly.
"Well so it did, I should probably stop leaving for that long if I'm going to miss stuff like this" He says, seeming to wake up a little, or at least make the effort to. He beckons me over to the bed, and I climb onto the other side, moving right over to be next to him.
"I only noticed this morning, it's literally like it happened over night" I explain tucking myself up next to his warm body, he pulls the covers back, staring at it a little more.
"No really, I'll get someone else to go if it's for more than a week, I want to be here" He says quietly, looking at my face again, and pulling the covers back over us. His large hand finding its way to rest in the dip of my waist. I give him a small smile, cuddling into him a little more, I realise before I've even finished getting comfy that he's sound asleep, and I cant reach my sandwich without disturbing him.
