Flora.
"I think you're waddling" Amber says as soon as I enter the double doors.
"No I'm not you're so rude" I say, dodging the looks of the few loitering in the lobby. Amber smirks, tapping at her keyboard before looking back up at me and handing me a guest pass.
"I miss you being around" she pouts, smoothing back her hair which is slicked into a ponytail that shows of her angular jaw.
"I miss you too" I whine running a hand over my bump which prevents me from getting too close to the desk.
"What are you doing tonight?" She asks.
"Nothing that I know of" I say raising my eyebrows.
"Okay, well you can tell Harry you're mine for the evening" She grins, giving me a small wave as I walk away and into the lift, smiling at someone I vaguely remember the face of, who I think may be called Jenni and works in accounts. Amber tells me I'm known as the new girl who left, fucked the boss, came back and then left again only to shack up with the boss anyway. Im getting used to the questionable looks, Amber I'm sure is just pleased she has the upper hand on the gossip.
I walk through the main aisle towards Harry's office, pausing momentarily by my old desk which harry hasn't bothered to fill yet. I tidy some of the files he's abandoned and ditch a coffee cup in the bin.
I knock on Harry's door a few times, opening it slowly, to see him on the phone by the window, seemingly having not heard me come in.
"I'm telling you now to sort it, I'm not paying you for fucking nothing, it's been long enough already" He says, voice raising a little bit, I stand quietly, knowing I've interrupted but unable to leave quietly. I shut the door loudly and pointedly and he turns around, unwilling to eaves drop anymore. He raises his eyebrows in surprise, giving me a smile.
"I have to go. Text me" He says bluntly, hanging up and shoving his phone in his pocket.
"Baby, you're early" He says, surprise still in his voice as he comes away from the window and towards me.
"Sorry.. I get so bored at home.. It's quiet" I mumble running my hand up and down his firm upper arm, he looks at me, lips set into a slightly stressed smile.
"It's okay, you can come any time you like" He says, kissing my forehead gently.
"You seem stressed, tough morning?" I say quietly, standing on my tiptoes to kiss his neck softly, feeling him relax into me a little.
"A bit shit" He says softly.
"Who was on the phone giving you hassle? Did you want me to have a word?" I chuckle.
"You're alright, I can handle my own trouble" He says, picking his coat up and shrugging it on before taking my hand and leading me through the door of his office.
"I hate walking through here with you" I mumble, staring down at my feet.. Or where my feet would be if I could see them anymore..
"Why? This is my office, you're co-boss now, if they're staring at you, tell them to get back to work, I wanna know whose slacking" Harry says sternly scanning his look over the office which sends a few heads down, hurriedly x'ing out of facebook. As we enter the foyer again Niall is leaning against the front desk, chatting to Amber who is clearly giggling.
"Niall what are you doing? Are the accounts finished or?" Harry asks, loud voice echoing across the lobby. Niall turns round, grinning.
"Er maybe who is asking?" He says grinning at me and back at Amber.
"Im serious Horan I need it done once I'm back from lunch" Harry grumbles. I raise my eyebrows at Niall and he smirks back.
I'm sitting at the table with Harry, who as promised is staying off his work phone while we eat lunch.
"I've had the best idea" I say, diverting his attention from where he's longingly eyeing his phone, jabbing him gently with my toe against his shin to regain his attention.
"Oh?" He smirks, humouring me.. Taking a long sip of his drink.
"I think you should take Amber on as your assistant.. You're getting behind without one and it makes me sad to see my desk empty" I pout, enthusiastic at the idea, sadly Harry doesn't seem to reiterate it.
"No fucking way" He shakes his head.
"Hey why not, she's really organised on reception it's about time she had a promotion" I argue her case, playing with Harry's fingers gently over the table.
"Flo I love Amber but at work I like working.. And she just talks, all the time and I just don't want her knowing everything.. You know what she's like" He protests.
"Please, give her a chance" I say quietly, biting my lip.
"You know what fine but don't think I won't demote her back because she's our mate" He says sternly.
"Yes Boss" I roll my eyes, running my foot up his calf, he runs a hand through his hair and his phone vibrates the table, not for the first time that minute.
"Whoever that is, I'm telling them that it's my time with you and that when the twins come that phone is gonna be off" I say, grabbing his phone, he doesn't even attempt to take it back from me, shrugging in defeat.
'07752248241; It's all sorted' I frown, passing the phone back to Harry silently. Feeling a little intrusive, but also suddenly curious.
"What's sorted?" I ask, nibbling at my lip.
"I don't think it's anything you need to worry about baby" His face flashes nerves for a moment before shoving his phone in his pocket.
