Chapter 9: Hospital

Chapter 9

Katniss P.O.V.

"It will be better", Annie says, comforting to me. "With time".

"I don't know", I say. "She seems to like Peeta but hate me".

Annie shakes her head.

"You don't see her the way we see her around you", she says. "Neveah doesn't hate you, but she is angry, you have to tell her way you have her up, you shave good reasons, and she has to be able to understand them".

I sigh and nod. I know that Annie is right. We have to tell Neveah why we gave her away. But as soon as either one of Peeta and I try to bring up the subject she becomes so defensive and angry, usually storms out of the room.

Right now she's in her new school for the first time. I really hope she makes some friends. And I hope that she likes the school. She was really angry this morning. She almost hit me with a plate, she threw across the kitchen. Said that she hates me for making her change school.

Peeta had just gone to the bakery, and I'm not going to tell him about the little incident. It's not going to do any good anyways so it doesn't even matter.

I still think that it was the right choice move Neveah from her bad school, I do.

"But you..." Annie stops herself right in the sentence and screams out loud.

"Annie are you okay?" I ask horrified.

But right after I asked I see something drop down onto the floor from her. Shit. Her water broke.

"Omg your water broke! You're going into labour!" I yell.

"Thank you so much for the observation", Annie hisses through gritted teeth.

"I have to get you to the hospital", I say.

"But... But Finnick", Annie starts.

I grab her arm and start to drag her carefully to the door.

"I'll call him on the way", I say.

Annie nods and follows me out of the house and toward mine and Peeta's car. I help Annie into the passenger seat before I hurry over to the drivers seat.

As soon as I'm out on the road I pick up my phone to call Finnick.

"Hey Kitty", Finnick answers.

"Finnick take Peeta and get to the hospital", I say.

"Wait why?" Now he sounds worried. "Did something happen are you okay? Annie, did something happen to her?"

"No or well yeah, her water broke she's in labour", I say and the call dies when Finnick immediately hangs up.

"Aaaaarrrrggggghh!" Annie shouts. "Son of a bitch it hurts!"

"I know, I know it hurts Annie just hold on", I say.

"I can't it freaking hurts", she yells.

"I know, don't you remember how I reacted to the pain when I were in labour?" I ask her. "You helped me, now try to listen to me, I know it hurts but it will be better, not now but it will".

Annie breaths fast through the pain, looking at me. She screams out again.

"Aren't we there yet?" She screams.

"Yes we are!" I say and pull up at the parking lot to the hospital. "Let me just find a spot to park".

I find a spot close to the entrance and park there. I run out and open her door, taking her arm and leads her to the entrance door.
