Chapter 2
Peeta's P.O.V.
"Finnick you have to deliver an order", I say.
"To where?" He asks coming out of the kitchen to me.
I give him the paper with the address and the order. He takes it, look at it and nods.
"Where is your dad?" He asks as he picks up the two boxes that has to be delivered.
"In the back", I tell him. "I think he's looking over the economy".
"Oh, is it bad?" He asks.
"Yeah if we don't get more costumers we'll have to close the bakery", I say sad.
"This sucks!" Finnick says low.
"It sure does, dad has built this up from nothing", I say and put the pen down.
"How can we gain more costumers?" Finnick asks.
"I really don't know", I say. "But we're gonna have to figure it out, or else were done".
"Okay well I guess I should get out this delivery as a start", Finnick chuckles.
"Yeah do that", I chuckle and throw the pen onto him.
He chuckles as he walks through the door.
I really don't know how we are going to gain more costumers. Katniss says that everything will work out, that it will all be good again. But I just don't know.
And I'm worried about my dad, I mean yeah, he gave me the bakery, I own it because my dad wants me to. But he still works here and he pours his whole soul into this bakery, he always has and now we might loose it.
Dad comes comes out to me, looking all down.
"Still bad?" I ask.
"Yeah, we might have to close up pretty soon", he says in a depressed tone of his voice.
"No!" I say and hurry up to him. "No dad, we're going to figure it out, I promise you we are".
"I don't think we are Peeta, we've managed before, but now I just don't know", dad says.
"Have you told Ryan and Nate?" I ask.
"Yeah, they said they're trying to come up with plans, but they don't know yet", dad says.
"We're going to figure it out dad, I promise you", I say.
"I hope so Peeta, I really do, I've had this since before you where born, even since Nate where born", he says with a sad smile.
Yeah, dad bought this building pretty cheap when Ryan was about three, and and now he's thirty four, so he has had the bakery for thirty one years now.
I feel so sorry for my dad. I have to figure out a way to save the bakery. For his sake. And I'm not gonna lie, I want to save it for me as well. Is grown up here, everyday since I was ten I've been baking here, dad taught me pretty early how to bake and cook. He loves those things and I were the only one out of Ryan, Nate and I, so dad poured everything he knew into me. This is what I want to do. I want to run the bakery for a long long time.
"Dad why don't you just go home and rest, I can manage and Finnick will be back soon", I say.
"Yeah, thank you Peeta", dad says smiling a little.
"Hey dad!" I say as he open the door. He turns around. "I love you".
"I love you too Peeta", he says smiling at me before walking out.
