Moving In!
Hi guys,
Guess what I did this week? Yep, I finally flew the nest! Young, little Paige finally upped sticks and moved to NYC (I'm so excited *squeal*).
I never thought I would be moving out when I was 18, to be honest I thought I was going to be one of those children that practically live with their parents for most of their lives because they sucked ass at school - yet here I am! (++ very far away from my family in Florida too *insert crying emoji here*).
Anyway, over the next few weeks I will be showing you my new apartment and what I have planned! For now, check out some pictures from moving day below.
Stay beautiful <3
Paige, logging off xx

((side note: if you want me to actually make Paige a blog, comment now! I will put a link in the next chapter if y'all are interested ))
Paige closed her laptop, sliding it off her lap as she climbed out of the cosy blanket burrito she had encased herself in. Her spotty pink slipper socks glided along the wooden floors as she slid down the hallway and into her office.
This was the only room in her apartment that actually had all the furniture in it so far, the rest was to arrive over the next few days. Yet, she hadn't decorated at all because she wanted to save it for her blog.
Paige's life basically revolved around her blog, and so she struggled to remember what life was like before it! Those weekly posts are the only reason she was where she was today, and her heart still skipped a beat whenever she realised just how lucky she really was.
Grabbing a whiteboard pen off her desk, she reached up and ticked 'post new blog entry' off the to-do list that hung from the plain white walls.
There was a knock at the door, and Paige rushed to answer, unaware of her appearance. She opened the grey door to reveal a middle aged man with a scruffy beard. He looked her up and down, taking in her dishevelled appearance.
Paige noticed his odd looks and suddenly became very self conscious of her messy bun and grey sweatpants. "What do you want?" She groaned, hiding behind her door in embarrassment.
"Paige Spencer? We have a furniture delivery for you downstairs." He replied in a monotone voice - looking incredibly bored and tired of his job.
"Oh yay," She squealed "Just bring it up and-"
"We can't bring it up the stairs ourselves - It's a safety precaution." He said with a smug look on his face, as if he was purposely being difficult.
Paige sighed and grabbed her phone. "Fine, lets go."
---
"What the hell am I supposed to do with this?" Paige angrily whispered to the delivery man who still had the same smug look on his face, earning some dirty looks from people in the lobby.
He simply shrugged and thrust a clipboard into her hands. "Sign here."
Paige scribbled down a signature onto the form and slid down the wall, watching as the man got into his van and left her with piles of flatpack furniture in cardboard boxes.
She put her head in her hands and brought her knees up to her chest, sighing loudly as her long blonde hair cascaded over her face. What was she going to do now? She'd only been in New York for two days, and the only friend she had made was the women from reception at Modest. I'm fucked, she thought.
"Paige?"
Her eyes darted up to be met by the same lanky Australian she encountered in the elevator, holding a Starbucks.
"Luke?" she croaked.
Luke reached out his hand and pulled her petite body off the lobby floor. She smiled weakly, suddenly remembering her attire.
Shit.
"Um, do you need help?" he said, gesturing towards the boxes stacked up against the walls.
"Yes please." She said shyly, a strange heat radiating through her cheeks.
---
After many stairs, awkward conversations and bumping into things, Paige and Luke finally finished hauling the boxes into her apartment. She collapsed onto the grey couch, Luke following shortly after, with the abandoned Starbucks in his hand. He took a sip and grimaced at the cold liquid in his mouth, reluctantly swallowing.
"Not a cold coffee kind of guy then?" Paige giggled, turning to face him on couch so they were both sat on opposite ends.
Luke shook his head and offered the drink to Paige, who gladly accepted it. "Luckily, I happen to enjoy cold coffee! Sorry for taking up your time Luke, I promise to buy you another hot Starbucks some day to make it up to you."
"Honestly, it's fine. I was on my way up to my apartment anyway so it's not li--"
"Wait, you live here?" She enquired, sitting up.
Luke chuckled slightly. "Everybody who's anybody lives here Paige, it's the Modest! Management building. They just rent it out to artists staying in NYC. I live upstairs," He pointed to the ceiling. "In the penthouse."
"How convenient." Paige wiggled her eyebrows, causing both of them to erupt into a laughing fit.
As both of them began to calm down, Paige's stomach rumbled. She groaned, getting up from the couch and walked over to the fridge. It was literally completely empty, except from a large carton of iced tea and some leftover Chinese from the previous night.
"The boys and I are having pizza tonight, if you want to join us?" Luke offered, aware of her situation.
Paige thought about it. Pizza? Hell yeah! Pizza with four boys she hardly knows? Hell to the motherflipping no. What if they tried to kidnap her or something? 5SOS could turn out to mean something completely other than a few seconds of summer.
"I'm good," She stated, shutting the fridge door. Luke's face dropped into a small frown, a hint of disappointment in his eyes.
"Thank you though." She quickly added in. Don't be rude, you want friends not enemies darling.
"Don't worry, it's fine. I'll see you around Paige." His lips curled into a small, half-hearted smile.
She nodded and watched as his tall frame drifted to the door, exiting her apartment and leaving her to replay the situation over and over in her head.
