Lily Potter was happy. She had a husband who loved her more than anything. She had a handsome son, who is a perfect mixture of her and James. She was happy with her husband's best friends, Sirius always making dog puns, and Remus groaning while James just fell to the floor laughing. Everything was perfect. Just one thing. They were all dead. Well, apart from Harry.
This day, is the day that Remus joined them, along with many others. This is the day that Harry is meant to save the wizarding world, as well as the muggle. When they saw Remus walk through the gates, James threw himself at his other best friend and wept. Sirius stood there, tears dripping from his eyes, and then a woman walked through. She had bubblegum pink hair, a pig snout and looked a couple years older than Lily. This must be Tonks, Sirius' cousin, who is now Remus' wife. When Sirius saw her, he said,
''Tonks, not you too!''
''I'm glad I died today, I'm glad I didn't stay. I wouldn't be able to live without Remus.'' She answered. She noticed Lily was staring at her nose, so she added, ''I'm a metamorphmagus, and I wanted to see if my powers still worked in the afterlife. Apparently they do.''
''Well I'm Lily, Ha-'' Lily started to introduce herself, but Tonks cut her off.
''Harry's mum, I know. He's great. And he's going to destroy Voldemort so all the people that died today wouldn't have died in vain.''
''I'm so proud of him!'' Lily exclaimed, before wrapping her arms around Tonks and crying into her shoulder. Tonks started crying too, thinking of her own son. When they finished crying, Lily went to Remus, and told him, ''Nice to see you again, Remus, but the circumstances aren't amazing...''
''You too Lily, but how else could we have seen each other again? The only thing I regret about today is that we left Teddy as an orphan.''
Before anyone else could start crying, the remaining Marauders and Lily felt the ground shake beneath them, and they felt themselves going down into the mortal world.
''Looks like Harry's found the Resurrection Stone Dumbledore was talking about.'' Lily heard Sirius mutter.
They ended up in the Forbidden Forest, in a circle around Harry, who looked so much older than he did when Lily last saw him. Well nooooo, he's almost seventeen years older than he was when you last saw him She thought. His eyes were closed, but when he heard them moving around, he opened them.
First, Harry looked at his father, who was smiling, as were the rest of them. Next, he looked at Sirius. Sirius was grinning, with his hands in his pockets. Remus looked so happy to be back in the Forest, where they had so many night-time wanderings, but this time it wasn't because of his 'furry little problem', it was because Harry was about to face Lord Voldemort, and could die. Like that's so much of an improvement from the previous situation Remus thought sarcastically.
Last of all, Harry turned to his mother. She stared at him hungrily, wanting to look at her baby boy forever. Her eyes were beginning to form tears, but she never let them out, her voice almost cracking as she spoke,
''You've been so brave.'' Harry didn't speak, he just stared, wanting to stay in this moment, with his parents and their best friends, away from the war, the pain and losses. He wanted to just forget about Voldemort and everything bad. He could stay frozen forever, and it would be enough.
''You're nearly there,'' James told him. ''Very close. We are so proud of you.''
''Does it hurt?'' Harry asked, without really thinking.
''Dying? Not at all,'' said Sirius. ''Quicker and easier than falling asleep.''
''And he will want it to be quick. He wants it over.'' added Remus.
