I felt Aayan's hand stiffen in my hold as we sat frozen in our seats. Slowly I tore my gaze from Rahul. Uneasiness was building up within me like a small storm. Reluctantly I glanced at Aayan, he was indeed changed into a wild and furious beast, was glaring down to Vikram. It looked like he could kill him with his eyes.

I could feel the stares from Nikhil, Shweta, and Riya at the same time. I knew this was going to get disastrous. The crowd cheered, oblivious to the drama.

"My congratulations to the newlyweds! What a wonderful night and setting. Let's get started now shall we?" His familiar voice struck me with a force. What in the world, was he going to sing? I panicked as I saw Aayan standing up. Pure fury was reflecting in his eyes.

"No. Please stop." I whispered. "It's our friends' wedding. Let it go. Don't let him win by doing anything irrational." He looked at me reluctantly and then followed my gaze to Nikhil and Shweta. He understood my point, sitting down with arms crossed in front of his chest.

Rahul's admirers gathered around the dance floor. He took his guitar, adjusted the setting. Then, there was that voice. The voice I used to love a few years ago.

Oh... Back in the days

When all was simple and bliss

With you and me side by side

And the world would stop

I go back to the days

When you were only sixteen

Sitting idly on the porch with me

Holding my hand and mumbling my song

I wanna go back to the days

When you were simple and innocent

Where we had left ourselves

Parting towards our own destiny

Never to meet again!

Now all I wanna do

Is go back to the days...

When the grass was green,

The flowers red as your lips

The mere touch of you would make me melt

And the time would stop running

If only I could rewind time to get back to the days

With you and me sitting side by side

Holding each other in our arms

To never let go...

To never let go...

To never let go...

When the song finished there was a moment when everything seemed quiet and then the thundering applaud broke the silence. I smiled, looking deep within. Even with his voice, even with the memories, he was referring. I did not feel a thing. It was unlike the last time when I heard his song on the radio. I had my old feelings resurfacing just a bit, only to vanish again. This time, it was nothing!

A closure.

I smiled in my revelation. I got an accusatory stare from Aayan. I looked at him with all my love for him and I smiled with small tears. He searched my face with longing. I kissed his shoulder, hugged his arm, and leaned in.
