A/N: The picture put up is the Smiths property
I fell for the girl I have to kill.
I tossed and turned all night thinking of Stella - or should I say Eirlys - who was literally an arms length away from me. I want to tell her what I know about her, and what my job really is. My thoughts are blocked. I don't know what to do, should I tell her? I'm losing my mind. I can't kill an innocent girl, especially not Eirlys, but I know that I have to. I turn to the clock on my bedside table and check the time. 8:03am. I've only had a few hours of sleep, but that will have to do, I don't want Eirlys to get suspicious or worried. I get out of bed quietly, and go to the kitchen to make a coffee. Hopefully, it will calm me down. Just as I sit down at the table, ready to figure out my plans for tonight, Eirlys enters kitchen a minute or so behind me and makes some tea she found in a cupboard.
"Morning," she says sweetly, dipping in and fishing out the tea bag in her mug.
"Morning, how'd you sleep?"
"Mostly good, you?" She asks.
"Fine," I sigh slightly.
"It didn't seem like that last night. You were moving so much, I thought it was because of me," she laughs. I try to join in but it comes off fake and strained. She looks at me worriedly, but quickly changes the subject.
"Excited for tonight?"
"Pumped," I say as a genuine smile makes its way on to my face.
"Great! Well I have to go get a dress. I'll be a few hours, you know girls," she giggles.
As Eirlys went dressing shopping, I went and got my equipment to bring it to the Smith property. I walk up to the front door and knock. A guy around my age opens the door and glares at me.
"Hey, umm, does Dylan Smith still live here?"
"That's me," he says.
"Oh wow, you've changed. It's Brandon, Brandon Reed," I extend my arm and give his a firm shake.
"Brandon," he smiles and gestures for me to come inside. We walks down the long hallway and into the living room. His family must be one of the richest in Millstone by now. They practically live in a mansion. They've always held celebrations here because of how big their property is, and they love the credit. The townspeople love the whole family. I go and sit on a couch near me whilst Dylan pours some whiskey in a pair of glasses at the bar stationed behind me.
"So, to what do I owe the pleasure?" He makes his way over to me, and hands me a glass full of the liquor.
"What would you do if I said a Watergem will be at the town celebration tonight?" I smirk and take a sip. It's like 10:30am, basically brunch time, I'm allowed to drink.
"You're shitting me," he laughs. "I thought they were extinct."
"So did I, until I almost kissed one."
"Dude, well, I guess you've never had much luck with girls," he snorts.
Dylan was one of my best buddies back in high school. I told him everything, even what I wanted to be, which is my job now. We've drifted apart these past couple of years, but now that I know where he is, I doubt that will happen again.
"I brought some equipment, can I hide some stuff?"
"Yeah, sure mate, chuck it where ever you want," he says gesturing around the whole house.
After I hide a few weapons and other Supreme-killing contraptions, Dylan and I chat about the old days when we were the towns most hated teenagers. We always used to run a muck. Dylan pours himself another glass of whiskey, and I reach out to grab the bottle.
