Violet’s P.O.V

I didn’t even bother to glance back at Kaden as me and Luke drove off. I can’t let that stupid jerk ruin my night any more then he already has.

I peered over at Luke who had his eyebrows all in a bunch, looking almost confused. I could tell something was on his mind and me being really curious, I wanted to find out.

“What’s up with you, you seem a little tense.” I asked hesitantly, not really sure if I should have asked at all.

“Nothing at all I’m perfectly fine! Just a tad nervous, but isn’t everyone on a first date?” He chuckled uneasily, as his eyes stayed focused on the road ahead.

I knew he was lying when he said that he was fine, he was gripping the steering wheel so hard that his knuckles were turning a ghostly white colour. I wasn’t going to press him on it though; I wanted this night to be fun.

“Can you tell me where we are going exactly; I don’t think I know this area?” I said, while looking around to see if I could find anything familiar to me.

“No can do Violet, it’s a surprise!” He winked, glancing over at me.

Great a surprise! For all I know this guy could be taking me into a creepy forest, where he is going to chop me up and bury the remains. Come to think of it, I barley know him; he could be a serial killer for all I know!

Calm down Violet! Jeez you have such a wild imagination, I bet your going to see a movie or something of the sorts. Just relax and try not to make a fool of yourself.

After bickering back and fourth with myself in my head, I finally got a grip and loosened up a little. I guess Luke is right; we all get a little nervous on a first date.

Suddenly we took a sharp turn and pulled up in front of a little coffee house, it was small and the outside was really cute looking. The house had white trimming surrounding it, with a red door smack in the middle, it almost had a sort of country feel. It appeared as if we were the only ones here though, because the parking lot was completely dead. I got out of the car and started walking towards it with Luke directly on my heels, following me inside. When I reached the door, I pulled on the handle and the door opened with a creak. Inside was a wood burning fire, with tables and chairs around it and a café bar tucked in the far left corner. The place was cozy and gave you a feeling of warmth, but I noticed that no one seemed to be working here.

Almost as if he read my mind, Luke piped up and said, “If you were wondering why no one seems to be working here, it’s because I do; my parents own the place and they lent me it for the night. I thought it would be fun if I could show you how everything works, I wanted this to be a memorable first date and do something unique.”

“This is definitely a first; I can’t say any guy has ever shut down a shop for me that we have all to ourselves. Plus me making specialty coffees will be memorable for sure; I know I will mess it up somehow!” I smiled, sending him a quirky look.
