Chapter 3:
"Mother of all that's good and holy! That alarm clock is way too loud for my liking." I said, as I reached over reluctantly and slammed my hand down on the clock, bringing it to silence.
I unravelled myself from the covers I was twined in and stood up. As I stretched my arms out, a huge yawn escaped my mouth.
It was Tuesday, only the second day of school and I was already tired of it. I waltzed over to my bathroom and hopped in the shower, hoping to relive all the aches in my back. After what seemed like the longest shower ever, I climbed out and dried my body off. I glanced at myself in the mirror and noticed the purple circles under the brim of my eyes. I definitely should have not stayed up so late.
I decided to put on a little more makeup then usual to try and hide the dark circles. I started by applying some moisturizer, and then worked my way to cover up and powder. After finishing my face makeup I moved onto the eyes. I smeared on some brown eye shadow, mascara, and liquid liner to bring out my green eyes. When all 'primping' was done, I brushed my teeth and combed my hair out. I even added some curls to my hair; after all it was picture day today.
I made my way over to my closet to pick out my outfit for the day. I settled on something a little more presentable then my usual attire, since my mom would probably slaughter me if I took my school picture wearing baggy clothes. I pulled a white lacey top over my head and stepped into my high waisted, blush pink skirt. Satisfied with my outfit I headed downstairs.
When I got downstairs, I noticed a note on the kitchen counter from my mom. I guess she was already gone for work, because she usually would have woken me up herself. I took the note in my hands and read it over quickly.
Violet,
I had to go to work early for a budget meeting. Dinner is already made you just need to heat it up because I wont be home till later this evening. Also do NOT and I repeat, do not go to picture day wearing baggy clothes sweetie. If you do I will be very upset, and we don't want that! Anyways, make sure you give Kaden a ride to school again today. His mom is struggling with work this week so she really appreciates you driving him.
Love,
Your Momma Bear!
Ps. The batch of cookies I made especially for you are packed and in your bag already. Have a great day!
"Oh I love my mom so much, she's such a character!" I said out loud, at absolutely no one.
The notes she left me always made me laugh. I could just picture her writing it, she would write things that tried to make her sound strict, but I new she was giggling as she wrote them. She was really laid back most of the time, which was a good thing. I never really got in trouble. She would simply throw a stern look my way and then laugh it off two seconds later. I can't complain, my mother is one of the best!
