I had left Janson and Amber at my place until I get back. I still have a mission to complete and there are many dark elves that need taking care of. I want to get back to Alfhiem with Amber as soon as possible. Or maybe I wanted to stay a little while? Nah. I could visit Midgard at a later date, but I would never prolong a mission from the king.

I could come back to visit Janson, but for now I needed to focus on the task at hand.

I was walking along the streets in the light from the street lamps. I felt dark elves everywhere. I felt them in almost every home. It was going to be a long night.

I crept up to a two story house. It was a nice peach with a small porch. The porch was white and a grey path made of stones trailed from the sidewalk to the front steps. I walked towards the back of the house. I had choosen to take my double bladed sword, Demaras, and two daggers. I also brought the blue powder with me.

I hoped that this would go smoothly. I looked up at a window on the second floor. It had dark magic written all over it. I climbed a pipe that led to the roof until I was level with the window. There was a tree a few feet away that had branches near the window. I saw no other way to get in and jumped backwards.

I fell diagonally and almost missed the branch. I was dangling by one hand. I grabbed the branch with my other hand and pulled myself up. I was now crouched down on the fairly sturdy branch. I walked towards the trunk and climbed to a branch that stretched to the window.

I peered into the window and saw a lone dark elf. It was a woman with dark black hair and violet eyes. She reminded me of Amber and my mind flashed back to the night I killed her parents. I felt a twinge of guilt and sorrow. The dark elf seemed to be giving a little girl nightmares. I kept watching. My job was to take care of the dark elves causing depression.

The window was open. I assumed it was how the dark elf had gotten in. I crawled closer to the window. I then climbed in and hid in the shadows near the walls. The dark elf didn't seem to notice me. She lifted a dagger that seemed to come from out of nowhere and muttered a few words from the old language.

I quickly ran behind her and used one hand to hold her hands to her back and used to other to smother her scream. "Go back to Svartalfheim!" I whisper in her ear. I fell her smile against my hand before she bites it.

"Rhaich!" I curse under my breath. She whips around with an evil smile spread across her lips. "I'm sorry!" She says sarcastically. She throws a punch that I catch. I twist her arm and her body follows in a swift kick to my gut. I grunt in pain. She smirks. I sweep my leg under her feet and she falls to the ground. I place my foot at her throat.

She pulls me to the ground and retrieves her dagger. She has it above my throat. She brings it down and I move my head. Her dagger get stuck in the wood floor. Suddenly something crashes against her head and her lifeless body falls ontop of me.

I shrug her off and stand. A broken lamp surrounds her body. I look at the direction the lamp cane from and see the little girl awake. She's frightened and holds a teddy bear to her chest. She can't be older the six. I sigh and walk to her. She tenses.

I take out the pouch of blue powder. I take a handful and blow it in her face. She struggles to stay conscious. "Thank you." I say before her eyes finally close. She'll think it was a dream or at least that's what her parent's will tell her. "Ollo vae" I say. It's a spell for sweet dreams. I then walk over to the dark elf's body. I sigh.

I use a spell to send it's body to Niflhiem, the realm of the dead. After it's body is gone, I clean up the broken lamp. I start to climb out the window, but turn around to look at the girl one last time. She has ginger hair and her eyes were brown. She looks like an angel as she sleeps.

I look around the room and she a sign on the door. Heather. It reads. Maybe I'll come visit you again some day, Heather. I think to myself. I jump out the window and climb down the tree.

I take one last look at the house before I continue down the street to the next house. Sweet dreams Heather.

I watched the sunrise as I walked home. I was beaten and bruised all over. I had defeated every dark elf, but none of them went down without a fight. I had taken care of most of them, but I hadn't finished. It was dawn now, so they were all going home. You can't give nightmares if the humans are awake.

I silently entered the house where Janson was asleep on the couch. The main room was a mess. Board games and their corresponding pieces littered the floor and the television was still on. I crept to the bedroom the find Amber in a deep sleep. I changed into clean clothes and crawled into the bed with her.

I snuggled her close and kissed the top of her head. She snuggled closer to me. I pulled the covers over us and let sleep take me to a meadow where Amber and I played and picked flowers together.
