Ectasy -an overpowering emotion or exaltation; a state of sudden, intense feeling.

I woke up to the smell of fresh blueberry pancakes. The smell drifted from the kitchen's stove to my bedroom through my nostrils and it smelled so delicious I got up almost immediately. But it reminded me about last night. The smell of that little boy's insides were irresistible and I couldn't control myself. It's weird how I'm so different when I am that thing, I don't know what to call it. Me and that thing have totally separate personalities. It makes me scared. That I'm going to change into a different creature without my knowing one day and my life will be ruined. It makes me scared that I wont always be me. I wont always be Alex. Alex the normal guy. But rather, Alex the monster.

That's not the only thing that frightens me. Last night, someone called the police because they saw monster sightings. More specifically, they called the police because they saw me. If I'm being seen by other people, I dont think I can ever sneak out again. I almost got caught by cops yesterday. The thought scares me. If I ever really got caught...who knows what will happen.

"Alex! Breakfast" my mom calls from downstairs. Her voice startles me from my thoughts. I groan as I get up from my bed.

"Okay, just a sec!" I yell back. I open the door to my bathroom but stop in my tracks as soon as I feel a drift of wind on my legs. I must've kept the window open all night. I should be more careful. I walk over to close it  but then I see blood dripping down from the window panel. My blood. My heart skips a beat. I run into my bathroom to get a cloth, any cloth, and wipe it up. I sigh. Its good Mom never came into my room during midnight. Anyway, it makes no sense that she would but lately,it looks like she's become suspicious of me.

As I walk downstairs, the smell of blueberry pancakes become stronger and I sniff the air for more. I see mom in front of the stove, flipping pancakes. She sees me, startled, and then after a few seconds, smiles.

"Hey sweetie. How was your night?" My night? Fantastic! I came home at about 2:45 in the morning after a good hour of hunting and feasting on a little boy. I nearly got caught by two cops but besides that everything was fine and... delicious. Well, except for the part where I had to walk home naked from changing back into my human form. And then, I fell asleep, feeling satisfied. But of course, I don't tell her any of this. I fake a smile and say " Good. I slept very well. I feel more alert now." The only reason I feel alert was because the guts flowing through my body awakened my senses.

Mom slowly smiled and replied, " Yes, thats very important." Her smile disappeared as slowly as it had come. " I saw your bedroom window open. Did you, you know, sneak out again?" My mom's face was totally serious now. I froze. I didn't know how to respond. Did  my mom see me? No, she couldn't have. She would've gone crazy. Believe it or not, she would've committed suicide because she gave birth to a monster.

          'W-What do you mean, Ma?"

"Alex, please! Don't tell me your sneaking out at night and seeing Alyssa again."

My body relaxed. She was only talking about Alyssa. Alyssa was my girlfriend. We have had some   "issues" in the past. My mom had seen me attempting to have sex with her in my bedroom  and I was forced to break up with her and promise to never see her again.Don't get me wrong. I'm nothing like a player.I really love Alyssa. She's the love of my life. But Mom was still furious. I argued that we didn't really get far and I was wearing a condom. This only made my mom angrier. What I really wanted to say was this : You shouldn't have been in my room in the first place! Dammit, I don't have any privacy in this fucking house. You have to understand, I love Alyssa and she loves me just as much. Why cant you ever except that?

     " Alyssa? No."

"Don't lie to me, son. What were you doing over her house at night?"  I opened my mouth to protest but shut it just as quickly. There's no need to argue. I'll just lie.

"I...we were talking. That's all that happened."

My mom looked at me with incredulous eyes. " Just talking? About what? Please, just tell me the truth." Mom was staring at me and it made me uncomfortable.I do want to tell you the truth mom. I do. I just cant. " Alex..." My mom sighed heavily." We'll talk about this later. Just eat your breakfast. You don't have much time." With that, she walked out of the kitchen and to her bedroom. Probably to talk about our little argument with Dad.

I sat down and ate my breakfast like I was told and walked out of the house with my book bag. I have a feeling deep in my gut that somethings gonna happen...something bad.
