The Ecstasy ( On Hold)

Chapter 4

         " Good Morning Class. As you all know today you have your final exams. Testing will start in 10 minutes. If you need to study and review, I suggest you do so now." Mr. Tobbs, my biology teacher,  says this without looking up once from his laptop. I wonder what he does on it.

          Keith pokes me from behind. " You wanna study together?"  I turn around, surprised by his offer.Keith rarely talks to me. He's like every one else, some popular kid who is attracting to all the girls at our school.I dont like him much but I accepted anyway, seeing how this would turn out.

         Some random girl walks in and shrieks, " Keith, baby! ".She runs over to him and sits on his lap. I've seen her before, I think her name is Lea. " I missed you so, so much!" Lea gives him a quick peck on the lips and looks around and sees everyone reading their biology books. " What are we doing?"

          Keith sighs. " Unfortunately, studying."

          " Who studies? People who study are soo boring, ugh."

          " Exactly. This fool over here just asked me if he wanted to study. I was like ' hell no'."Keith said and pointed his finger at me.

         Lea suddenly looks over at me. She raises an eyebrow. " He's pretty cute for a geek." she tells him. 

         " I- I'm not a geek. " I say quickly. " He was the one that actually wanted to study." I pointed my finger at Keith, accusingly.  Lea laughs. " You? Seriously? Loser." Her blonde hair moved back and forth as she turned back to me. " Hey, your pretty hot."

          Was she talking to me? I looked back to see if anyone was behind me. 

          " I'm talking to you, hottie. ' she said. She actually called me hot! I cant believe this. I blushed.   " Your pretty hot yourself." I told her.

           " Really?" She smiled at me." Whats your name?"

           " Alex.." 

            Lea's smile widened." Sexy. My friends name is Alex. Don't worry, you are definitely more sexier than him." I blush. Damn, it seems like my cheeks have a mind of its own. I notice her smile never fades. It glows in the light and its somthing to really love.  " It means protector of mankind right?"

             I raised my eyebrows. " Yea, how'd you know?"

             She shrugged. " I guess I just know things."  Our gaze was interrupted by Mr. Tobbs announcement. " 5 more minutes, everyone."

            She licked her lips.  Hell, I"m going to explode. I licked mines too, without meaning to. My hormones are really acting up. She giggled. My heart skipped a beat, in delight. She bit her lip and looked at me intently. Actually, she was really staring at my lips. I blushed, not able to control it.

           " I've never seen a guy blush so many times. Its really cute on you." She noticed? " Oh,God. Sorry."  Lea just laughs. She touches my hand. " Hey you want to go to this cook out with me after school. Its at Alyssa Love's house. " She doesn't give me time to answer. " I'll be waiting." she says alluringly which makes me want to kiss her right then and there. I wondered how it would feel. If it was anything like when Alyssa and I kissed. I stood up abruptly , confused by my thoughts. 

I nod at her. "I'll be there. But um, I gotta go"

           " Now? Well-" but I'm already at the door. As I'm stepping out I hear her say " Damn, I love shy boys." Keith looks confused like he cant believe what just happened. 

           But I don't really care right now. I've gotta get somewhere safe where no one will find me. The bathroom? No, there's probably a bunch of guys smoking or skipping class there. I run down the hall to the janitor's closet.  

              Once I'm there, I shut the door behind me and switch on the lights. Only to find a couple kissing way too rough. The girls top is off and the boy's hand is moving up and down on her waist.

I cant take it. They have to get out now or I'll..  I take a deep breath. " Guys, you have to get out now." I say calmly. The boy curses under his breath. As they leave, I hear the girl say " I thought I told you to lock it."  I slam the door and drop to the floor. 

                My head is throbbing so bad. I  try to stand up but my legs aren't moving at all. My body feels like its stretching widely. I 'd rather die than go through this. For some reason, I beg to God to take this pain away. I think He tried to show me a lesson because I was gonna go out with Lea and I was cheating on Alyssa . I then realize how stupid that sounded. I didn't do anything wrong. And I'm not going to. 

                 I scream out loud. This is too painful. I cant take it at all. I think I'm turning...

                I look up at the mirror in fron of me, noticing sweat dripping from my hair. I can totally see this thing that's taking over my body. My skins turning blue and leathery. It's spreading all around my body. What is this? What am I?

                  I struggle to stand up. I feel like there's a heavy weight on me. I look around the room. My skin is burning! Its freakin' burning! My breath becomes heavy and inconsistent. I scratch my skin but there's no way its coming off. Kill me now, I think.

I think about giving up. There's no use. Until I see a knife on the ground behind a mop. I didn't mean literally. 

                 I think about picking it up. What use will that do? It's not like-- I suck in a quick deep breath.  The pain is excruciating. I have no other choice. I'll give it a try. I walk over to it while my legs go wobbly and pick it up. I trace the tips of it with my fingers. Its cold and very sharp. If I stab myself , I 'll kill a few million blood cells. It would stop the flow of this thing.But its only a 5 percent chance since there's no telling if it survives on blood cells, though.I trace the blue leathery skin back to its starting point: my wrists. If I were to stab there, It would stop the whole thing from spreading. I suck in my breath, Let's only hope.      

               I hold the knife up, ready to puncture through my flesh. My arm doesn't move. Why am I so scared all of  a sudden? Damn you, Alex. Man up. I can do this. 

I take a deep breath and close my eyes slowly. Five...four...three...two...two...one...

             There it goes. The bloods gushing out so fast that I put my hand over it to stop the blood flow. I'm not sure if it stopped the disease or not. My plan probably didn't work since I didn't pay attention in Biology class this whole semester. The last thing I saw before me was complete darkness. It was sucking me up into no where.
