The Selection

Blair sat in her en suite bath, the jacuzzi-like jets throwing themselves around crazily, not unlike her mind. Tomorrow was the Selection, a fun yet difficult lunch-long affair which consisted of choosing which Year Sevens were suitable to become projects. Since they were all eleven and twelve year olds, this was a terrifying event which Blair had an uncanny gift for. Of course, sobbing was often the case but she had become detached from that. The problem was always the troublemakers, but there often weren't too many of those.

Blair was exhausted. She had had enough of of these silly girls who thought they were better than everyone else. Most of them had drooped or bounced, or answered sarcastically or just been a wholehearted idiot. She was beginning to give up when a certain ball of perfectness made her way to the stage. The queen shivered, there was something violently wrong - and violently right about this girl. Blair had no idea what, however.

"Name?" Blair commanded, not unkindly.
"Florence. Florence Lacedon," the smart-looking brunette figure standing between the fountains answered. Blair noticed that even with her tiny stature, the girl stood with grace, as if she knew everyone was staring and that they were staring in awe. Just as a princess should. Blair whispered this to Annie, her Lady who quickly noted this down.

"What are your interests, Florence?" Blair asked, warming to this girl indefinitely. Blaire already knew the answer, but she had to follow court protocol.
"Classical singing, flute and tennis." Ha. Blair knew it. This girl, Florence; she was a mini-Blair. Blair already knew she had hit the perfect project.

"Florence - I do believe you are quite the princess prodigy. Please report here - the Japenese garden, that is - on Monday," Blair declared, "Next!"

What followed was an uncanny bunch of mop heads with some mild talent thrown in at some points, but Blair didn't care. She hadn't found any worthy princesses, but that was fine; she had found herself a queen.
