I would've posted this sooner but I was working on a one-shot for most of my writing time. Sorry.

A blinding white light flared, piercing the pitch black darkness that invaded Sapphire's sight. The light slowly faded away, uncovering something too blurry to make out. Sapphire blinked, trying to focus on the appearing image in front of her. As soon as she opened her eyes, the image cleared up, revealing the inside of a house.

What? Where am I? Sapphire thought, puzzled, as she regained control of her body, looking at the palms of her hands.

Suddenly, a sharp sting struck her forehead, causing Sapphire to jerk her hand to the source of pain. Her teeth grinded as the sting pierced her forehead again. Ouch... Why the hell is it hurting? she growled in her head, lowering her hand. Sapphire's eyes widened when she saw a drop of scarlet ooze trickling down her palm. Blood? Her eyebrows furrowed as she examined the thick red liquid.

"Hey," a deep voice whispered urgently. She could hear him pant shakily. "I got the keys, we have to rush outside to the car. I don't think I have enough energy to teleport the both of us to it."

Sapphire whipped around to face a teenage boy staring at her with fear-stricken eyes. Who is he? He looks so familiar...

"Sapphire?" the boy muttered, raising an eyebrow. "Are you all right?"

"What?" she managed to murmur, her head still swimming to try and figure out who he was.

The boy suppressed an irritated groan. "Ugh, we don't have time for this," he scowled, snatching Sapphire's hand and smearing the slimy blood on it. "C'mon, we have to hurry before he finds us."

Who? What the hell is going on? Questions scrambled in her mind as the teenage boy whipped the door open, charging outside with Sapphire right behind him. They ran on the dusty ground, their footsteps beating heavily, matching the rhythm of their panting.

"Hey!" a rumbling voice bellowed, echoing through the tense air. Sapphire jerked her head around to see a large man with flaming red hair in front of the house. He started to sprint after them, like a large grizzly bear hunting down its prey. Thankfully, due to his large figure, the man couldn't catch up with the two nimble teenagers. Suddenly, he stopped, panting heavily as specks of saliva flew everywhere. Then, he pointed his index finger at them, his face forming a nasty scowl.

"Damn!" the teenage boy muttered after sneaking a glance at the man, quickening his pace, almost sprinting to the nearby car. "We're in so much trouble."

A large boom popped through the air, causing the two kids to flinch and jerk both of their heads around to see a crispy burnt trash bin a few steps away. Large puffs of smoke swirled in the air, hiding them from the dangerous man. What was that? A bomb? Panicked thoughts jumbled inside of Sapphire's mind as she heard the man bellow once more.

"Where are you?!" he snarled, his shouts as loud as a lion's roar.

Soon, the smoke faded away, exposing the two teenagers near the car. The boy swung the door open and slid inside on the driver's seat, slamming the car door shut. Sapphire rushed in on the other side, too panicked to remember to strap on the seat belt. As the car engine roared to life, she prayed that there would be no more explosions. Of course, she was wrong.

BOOM! The air exploded with smoke again, rapidly disguising the whole car beneath the fumes. The car sped forward suddenly, causing Sapphire to lurch from her seat, almost hitting her head against the glass. The teenage boy was speeding, extremely desperate to escape from the dangerous man and his explosions. Drive faster! she panicked in her head, her fists clenched tightly. There was a muffled shout, but Sapphire couldn't make out what the man had said.
