"Nothing," Jimin whispered.
"Really? But I heard something," Yoongi said, leaning in so close that Jimin could feel the heat radiating from him. Jimin countered, "Your ears are just ringing. Drop all that and tell me—what is tomorrow?" He repeated his question, eyes fixed on Yoongi.
In response, Yoongi scooped Jimin into his arms, carried him over to the sofa, and sat down with Jimin in his lap. "Of course I remember. Tomorrow is our 6th-month anniversary." He looked at Jimin tenderly. "Tell me, what do you want as a gift?"
"You didn't remember a second ago! How do you know now?" Jimin asked suspiciously.
Yoongi glared at him as if his anger was ignited by the lack of trust, but Jimin wasn't phased. "Why are you glaring? I'm telling the truth!"
"I remembered everything. Now stop letting your imagination run wild," Yoongi warned. Jimin was certain Yoongi had forgotten, but he couldn't figure out who tipped him off. Since Jimin only told Tae, he couldn't fathom Tae actually calling Yoongi to tell him.
"Tell me what you want, quickly, or the offer expires," Yoongi's voice broke his train of thought. Jimin pouted and looked away. "I haven't thought of anything yet."
"Fine. Let me know when you do," Yoongi said.
The night passed peacefully. The next morning, Jimin woke up only to realize he was running late for college again. He scrambled out of bed and dashed into the bathroom to get ready in a frantic rush.
Yoongi, who was already in the study, walked into the bedroom and watched Jimin's high-speed morning routine. He chuckled, walked up behind him, and wrapped his arms around Jimin's waist. "Are you getting ready this fast because you're so happy about our anniversary?"
"No! It's because I'm late!" Jimin cried. Almost ignoring Yoongi in his haste, Jimin tried to wiggle away, but Yoongi lifted him off his feet and carried him back to the sofa.
"Yoongi! What are you doing? I need to get ready!"
Yoongi sat down with him and held up his phone. "Look at the time." Jimin looked at the screen and froze. Yoongi’s phone showed 7:30 AM, but when Jimin had checked his own phone earlier, it said 8:30 AM. How?
Seeing him dazed and confused, Yoongi said, "That’s enough. Don't strain that tiny brain of yours."
Jimin glared at him. "Did you do this? Did you change the time on my phone?"
"Well, you never wake up early on your own. I had to do something," Yoongi admitted.
"Yoongi!" Jimin shouted his name in annoyance. Before he could say another word, Yoongi blocked him by pressing his lips against Jimin’s, pulling him into a deep, breathless kiss. When Yoongi finally pulled away so Jimin could breathe, Jimin gasped, "You are so mean."
Yoongi stroked his hair. "Sometimes I have to be, or you'll never fix your habits."
"My habits are fine!" Jimin huffed. Then, he softened and hugged Yoongi's neck. "I was going to stay angry at you, but then I remembered it’s our 6th-month anniversary. So, I won't be angry. Let's spend the day together."
"Don't you have college?" Yoongi asked, smoothing Jimin's hair.
"It's not important today. Play practice is almost done, and Jin-dii is going to the doctor, so she won't be there anyway," Jimin explained.
Seeing that Jimin hadn't mentioned 'studying' even once, Yoongi teased, "I see. So your education has nothing to do with your life anymore?"
Jimin understood the hidden jab and joked, "Education? Is that the name of a bird?"
