"Don't worry Akira, this is only for a short while. Look at Kavita, she’s so annoyed; she’ll kick him out of Jungkook’s life any moment. Besides, where is his status compared to ours? He can't even dream of being our equal."
Kavita was indeed fuming seeing Jungkook serve Tae so attentively, but she kept her anger in check for the moment. Meanwhile, Jimin and Yoongi had arrived at the same hotel. As soon as the staff realized Yoongi was there, they all rushed to welcome him.
Yoongi told them to return to their duties and led Jimin to his private suite, which was permanently reserved for him. Yoongi often used this room for high-stakes business meetings. Inside, Jimin sat on a chair and immediately got busy with his phone. Yoongi watched him intently, feeling ignored.
"Jimin, I thought we came here to spend time together?" Yoongi said, staring him down. Jimin lowered his phone. "I was just checking something."
In reality, Jimin was messaging Tae, telling him that he was at the hotel with Yoongi. However, Tae's phone was on silent, so he wasn't seeing the messages, causing Jimin to text him repeatedly out of worry. Under Yoongi's gaze, Jimin finally put the phone away.
At the other table,
Tae was eating peacefully, unaware of the messages. "So, what does your dad do?" Kavita asked Tae. Before Tae could answer, Rajni chimed in, "Come on Kavita, what kind of question is that? His dad must be some office employee."
This time, Tae felt a flash of sharp anger. "What's wrong with being an office employee? They are the ones whose hard work takes a company to great heights."
"I didn't say anything wrong, why are you getting so defensive? I just asked normally," Rajni said, playing innocent while making Tae look like the aggressor. Seeing Tae’s temper flare, Jungkook got nervous—he knew Tae’s anger well and feared he might accidentally wreck the room.
"Auntie, just like your meaning wasn't wrong, Tae is also right," Jungkook said, trying to settle the tension.
Rajni was annoyed that Jungkook took Tae’s side, but she stayed quiet and looked toward Kavita.
Tae was genuinely upset now. He wondered how these people would treat someone who actually was from a middle-class family. Their behavior was so toxic he almost considered leaving Jungkook right then, but he knew his own worth and that he was more than capable of giving them a fitting reply.
To break the heavy silence, Akira asked, "Jungkook, when is your next concert?"
"Not for a while. Exams are coming up, so I haven't planned anything," Jungkook replied.
"Oh, let me know when it happens. Some of my friends want to come."
"Why just let her know? Jungkook will give you passes for whoever you want," Kavita said affectionately.
"Anyway, Tae, you didn't finish—what does your family actually do?" Akira asked again, noticing Tae’s earlier reaction and wanting to provoke him.
Before Tae could speak, a waiter arrived to serve food. He recognized Tae immediately. "Tae-nim, you're here today? What a lucky day—Yoongi-nim is also here with his husband."
Tae looked at the waiter and smiled. The waiter had been with the Min hotels for a long time and knew the family well. Tae had even helped pay for his daughter's education once. "Hyung is here?" Tae asked.
"Yes, he is in his private suite," the waiter replied.
Everyone at the table, except Jungkook, froze. They couldn't understand what was happening. Who was this "Yoongi" they were talking about? Surely not Yoongi Min?
Tae looked at Jungkook and whispered, "Jimin must have dragged Hyung here."
