                                                                                       Four

It's been two weeks since Dallas, and we are still in Australia, and apparently so are the other 2 girls that Nicole was living with. I guess they came over here for the summer because they are meeting with their friends they made over some fan chatting place for some movie. And Amy is still home with her mom, still no word of what is going on. So Nicole is alone at their apartment. So far she isn't as upset as she was when she was alone before. She says that she talks to me, her friends, or her mom, and it keeps her from feeling alone. She still asks if I am going to have a break in the tour, to where I could come visit her. I tell her that this is the 'peak' of the tour, its one date after the next, shows that are only like 10 hours apart. We get done with a show and we hop on a plane and fly to the next city because there wouldn't be time to drive, and we set up for another show, and then it repeats. We sleep on the plane because there's no time when we are on the ground. I talk to her while I eat lunch and supper, and in between practices.

I hope that she gets someone to live with because she seems to get lonelier everyday. I just hope that things won't get as bad as last time. This time she won't be able to move in with her friends and things will get better. Things will just get worse and I don't want to see the worst.

She still makes me smile when I think of her, the guys still joke about me smiling at odd times (the random time she pops in my head). My manager gets frustrated because during the meetings that we have at the end of the week to talk about shows and stuff, he sees me smiling. He asks what I am smiling at but I don't want to be like "oh I am just thinking of Nicole" because he wouldn't understand, so I think of some random thing that I could be thinking of. Then he tells me "concentrate Dennis, this is important", even though we basically just set up like 3 different song lists for the shows in the following week, and I normally already have my ideas ready before the meeting.

"Hey mate, what's up?" she texted me when I was walking down the hall to practice.

"That's kinda odd, mate just seems wrong" I said, poking fun.

"Yeah, I thought that after I sent it." She said.

"Yeah, that's ok, but to answer your question, I am just getting ready for practice." I said.

"Oh, well I'll leave you alone then." She said.

"No, you're alright, today has been stressful." I said.

"Aw, why's that." She said.

"Well, probably because I didn't get much sleep last night and that this show is like 2 hours sooner. Needless to say, I haven't even had lunch yet." I said.

"That's not right." She said.

"Yeah, but we plan on getting something after practice." I said.

"Well, hopefully it's soon." She said.

"I'm alright." I said.

"Well, it's still not right." She said.

"Don't worry about it, in like a month things will calm down." I said.

"I hope so." She said.

"Have you talked to Amy?" I asked.

"No, I check up on her but she doesn't ever want to talk." She said.

"Hopefully things will get better for her." I said.

"Yeah." She said.

"Well, I will have to talk to you while lunch, because we have to practice." I said.

"Alright." She said.

"Love you." I said.

"Love you." She said. Then I walk into the room where we are practicing. There I find a very upset manager.

"Where have you been?" he said.

"I was talking to my... mom" I said.

"I don't believe that!" he said.

"I was." I said.

"What ever, get over here and do what you do." He said.

"Ok." I said. And then practice officially started. I don't quite know why we have to practice everyday, but I guess it is better than listening to him when we goof up something. 'See we should have practiced' he'd say 'last time I listen to you guys'.

Three o'clock in the afternoon and it is finally lunch time. Our manager talks about the show that is coming up in an hour. He is a huge worrier. He worries about the craziest things, things that have never happened, and never will.

While he was telling us for the 10th (no really the 10th) time he gave us a 'pep' talk, I took out my phone and started to text Nicole.

"Dennis! I am getting tired of you not listening to me, put the phone down!" he said.

"You already covered this, 'today's show is a sold out show', 'this show is the biggest on the tour', 'just go out there and do what you were meant to do, that how you've gotten this far', I know already." I said.

"Well if you know what I am going to say, that am I going to say next." He said.

"Today is very important to me. I believe in you, don't let me down!" I said.

"Alright, fine I guess you have a point." He said.

"So can I use my phone now?" I asked.

"Fine." He said, walking over to the table that was empty.

"Sorry I am a little later than I thought, practice was a little longer and our manager had to talk halfway through lunch." I texted Nicole. I waited for her to respond, it takes a little while for her to see that I wrote her. I wait for about 5 minutes, still no response, so I wait longer. Ten more minutes goes by and still no answer.

"Are you there." I texted, maybe to get her to see that I wrote. Then ten more minutes went by and it was getting to be time to get into our 'stage clothes'.

"Maybe she got busy, or her phone died." I thought to myself as I slipped on my vest. I texted her and told her that I was going on stage now and that I wont be on anymore tonight, and then I shut my phone off. I follow the guys out to the stage entrance, and again, I was the last to go out. We've gotta stick to tradition, well, I guess that's what it is.

"What's up Sydney?! How are you all tonight?!" I said into the microphone when I went out on stage. A roar of screams and cheers followed. We kick the show off with one of our older songs, which is one of Nicole's favorites. Just that fact made me smile, and I guess I made a few girls get excited because I 'Smiled' at them. I didn't but, eh, I made their day, well almost night.

A stressful day, turned out to be not so bad. I think that was the most fun I've had at a show this month. The kind of show that we had tonight only happens about 3 or 4 times in each tour. They are the ones that you remember. They aren't always the result of a really stressful day. I don't know what makes one show so great, but you know that it is one of those shows almost instantly.

I turn my phone on, to see if Nicole wrote me, no luck, she still hasn't even seen the ones that I sent before. I wonder why? Her phone couldn't be dead that long. She would have had it charged by now. I mean I'm sure that she is ok, but she normally writes back. Also I told her that I was going to write her during lunch, she wouldn't have left. Oh well. Maybe she will right tomorrow. Told her goodnight in a message and I shut my phone off. Back to the airport to fly to the next city.
