Lashton/Malum One Shots

Stones - Lashton

"Morning!" Ashton's voice sounds throughout the 5SOS tourbus kitchen.

"Shut up, Ashton." Luke tries to sound as pissed off as possible, because he really hates mornings, but he just sounds incredibly fond.

(He doesn't sound fond to Calum, Ashton and Mikey but he's so in love with Ashton that he's oblivious to anything else and think he's being way too obvious.)

"Not a morning person are you, Luke?" Ashton teases and Luke just flips him the bird as he shovels another spoonful of cereal into his mouth.

Ashton chuckles to himself, shaking his head and helping himself to his own cereal.

Luke feels the stone at the end of his necklace get a little hotter and then he remembers that he can't love Ashton, because he has a soulmate out there, and it's not Ashton.

Everyone is given a stone a birth to put at the end of a necklace and they can wear it whenever they want. A lot of people choose to wear it all the time to try and find their soulmate whenever possible, but others only wear it when they're around lots of people.

The 5SOS boys wear theirs all the time, despite Calum and Mikey having figured out that they were each others' soulmates about a year ago.

It's supposed to get hot or warm when you're near your soulmate, but Luke's is always warm so he think maybe the rule for his is different, because he's heard stones can start warm and go cold as they get nearer their soulmate.

Ashton subtly stares at Luke as he laughs with Calum, smiling at how happy he looks and he feel his necklace get a little warmer, snapping him back into the reality that Luke can never be his.

"Can we have a party tonight?" Mikey begs Calum.

"Only if it's just us 4." Luke chips in. Ashton smiles and agrees.

When their mini party came round, Calum and Mikey got so drunk within the first 30 minutes that they decided to call it quits for the rest of the evening.

Luke and Ashton shared a few bottles of this and that between them and were fairly tipsy by the time that it came to the situation that they're currently in.

They're standing around in the kitchen when Ashton starts to walk but trips.

Almost like a reflex and even in his drunken state, Luke reaches out and catches him, pulling Ashton against himself tightly.

"Thanks." Ashton says.

"Okay." Luke slurs.

"I'm drunk." Ashton then declares, staring at Luke's lips.

"I'm drunk." Luke repeats and they both lean in and their lips crash together. It's a messy and hungry yet somewhat desperate kiss, and they know they shouldn't be doing it, but they can't help themselves.

Luke doesn't know how he's going to come up with an excuse as to why he kissed Ashton, but he knows the older boy well enough to know that he won't be able to either.

They pull away and walk to the sofa, collapsing on it together and almost instantly passing out cold.

Ashton wakes up the next morning to a loud groan.

"Fuck my life." Luke grumbles and Ashton opens his eyes.

Luke and himself are squeezed onto the sofa together, their faces opposite each other.

Ashton looks at Luke, who's staring back and all the memories came back.

"You two definitely got with each other last night." Calum says pointedly as he walks into the seating area.

"Yeah..." Ashton trails off, tearing his gaze away from Luke and back to Calum.

"You know that's not really allowed guys." Calum then sighs.

"I can't really remember most of it." Luke says quietly. "It doesn't matter."

"Just remember your soulmate is out there and now has a black circle on their neck okay?" Calum asks. "That's gonna take explaining. And a lot of trust."

Oh yeah, another 'rule' about the soulmates if you like, is that if you kiss anyone else who isn't your soulmate, your soulmate receives a black circle the size of your pupil on their collarbone/shoulder area per person that you kiss. It has the potential to real wreck someone's 'joining' with their soulmate and destroys a lot of trust.

Calum goes to get Mikey and they appear a few minutes later together.

"Interesting gossip from last night, then." Mikey says and Luke and Ashton both groan, burying their heads into the sofa and subtly getting closer to one another.

Six months go by and it's not until one afternoon when all four boys are squished up on the sofa in the order of Mikey, Calum, Luke then Ashton.

Naturally, Mikey and Calum are wrapped around each other and Ashton is actually hugging Luke as they lie there altogether.

Calum goes to put his arm around Luke to get more comfortable when he touches Luke's stone by accident and freezes straight away.

"Luke, why is your stone warm?" Calum suddenly asks after a long pause.

"I don't know. It's always warm." Luke shrugs.

"But-" Calum tries to ask more but Ashton cuts him off.

"Same with mine. I think I might have a reverse stone."

Calum is silent for a long time before giving Mikey a look.

"Are your stones warm when you go home?" Mikey addresses both Luke and Ashton.

"No. I think my soulmates at home." Ashton then says thoughtfully.

"I suppose I'm the same." Luke sighs.

Mikey buries his head into Calum's neck in frustration.

"You're both idiots." Calum says and drags Mikey off the sofa and to the bunks.

Luke and Ashton face each other and stare at each other for a while.

"There's no such thing as reverse stones!" They hear Mikey call from the bunks where he's cuddling with Calum.

Ashton suddenly starts blushing like crazy, earning him a confused look from Luke.

"What? I'm confused."

"We're idiots." Ashton says. "As in WE. You and I. Ashton and Luke."

Realisation suddenly flashes across Luke's features.

"Oh." He says and is silent for a while before a smile breaks out across his face to match Ashton's and he speaks again. "Luke and Ashton... I like the sound of that." He grins and Ashton pulls him closer.

"Yeah?" He asks.

"Yeah." Luke breathes, taking the final step and pressing his lips against Ashton's, the first official in kiss of many many more to come.
