Luke had always hated geography. He hated it even more whenever they gave him assignments, especially coursework. Although this burning hatred for the subject was there, there was one thing that made it slightly better; they had been put into partners in class and luckily the teacher had some sense to put Luke with his best friend, Ashton.
Ashton was the complete opposite of Luke in terms of geography. It was his favourite subject, and Luke was planning on making Ashton do all the work. He always did Ashton's English essays anyway...
The boys were sitting on Ashton's bed, looking through geography magazines with All Time Low playing in the background. Luke's legs were slung lazily over Ashton's and their arms brushed each other's when one of them went to turn a page. Ashton tried to ignore the burning feeling Luke's touch gave him. He didn't have a crush on his best friend, he had just been noticing him a lot recently... Okay, so he had a crush. Sue him.
"Hey uh- Ash?" Luke asked nervously, placing the magazine on the bed and sitting up, crossing his legs and looking at his best friend.
"Yeah?" He mumbled, uninterested, as he finished reading a paragraph.
"I need your advice." Luke then stated after Ashton put his magazine down.
"Okay... What's up?" He asked, cocking his head to one side.
"Well uh- I kind of like someone...but I don't know what to do about it..." Luke mumbled.
"Aw! How long have you liked them?! You never told me this before!" Ashton acted excited, although he was a tiny bit jealous.
"A long time. Yeah, sorry I didn't think it was important..." He trailed off.
"Well, what's worrying you?" Ashton asked.
"I want to make a move but uh- I haven't exactly been with anyone for a while now- and I haven't kissed someone for ages. What if they just leave me because I don't know how to kiss them?" Luke blushed, feeling embarrassed because that was really not the type of thing to say. Ashton was quiet for a very long time.
"You know, we could- Actually ignore me." Ashton trailed off immediately, realising that this thought would be the road to ruin for their friendship.
Luke looked up at him, and Ashton looked into his eyes.
"What?"
"It's nothing." Ashton mumbled, fiddling with his wristbands again.
Luke pulled a face of disgust. "Come on, don't do that!" He whined, poking his best friend in the ribs. "Don't be the 'never mind' guy!"
"Alright, alright, stop that tickles." Ashton let a chuckle slip through his lips, fighting the blue eyed boy's hands away from him.
"What if we like, I don't know.." He hesitated. "We could practise..."
Luke's eyebrows shot up, smile faltering into a questioning look.
"Practise with who?"
Ashton avoided eye contact, face completely flushed.
"With each other. In a completely non-gay way, I mean, only for the experience- It doesn't even matter, it's stupid." he mumbled, tripping over his words.
He looked up at Luke, who cocked his head.
"Alright."
Ashton froze, relief and confusion waving over him.
"What?"
"Let's do it." Luke said, shrugging but there was no denying the colour creeping up onto his cheeks.
