Chapter 2:

Odd Habits Die Hard.

I woke up to my mother screaming to wake up. Cody walked in without warning.

“Dean, Wake the hell up! It’s dinner” Well how sweet of my 15 year old brother to waltz in to yell at me. I grumble.

“Oh and who’s that hot day-um girl sleeping in the guest room? She sleeps weird though. Does she prefer to sleep on the floor, or did she just missed the bed last night?” I groaned. I forgot about Georgia. I push myself up.

“Cody leave. I’m not in the mood to answer you questions. Ask Isaac or Mom. They were there” I fell back on to my bed and closed my eyes. Cody shook me.

“Did you not here me, it’s dinner. Do I need to spell that out for you?”

“No, I’m going.” Wow, wait. Did he say dinner? I shot out of bed.

“Fuck, I missed work.”

He chuckled. I gave him a glare. I grabbed a pair of pants and a shirt and walked out of my room. I went down the steps and enter the kitchen to the right.

“Well, finally the walking zombie finally awoke” my mom said.

I glared at her.

“Darling since your standing would you mind going to get Georgia? She must be hungry, especially at the state she was when you found her, she needs to eat,” I nodded my head and climb up the stairs again. I walked down the hall and into the guest bedroom. I saw a note on the bed. I sighed and walked to it, picked it up and read.

Thank-you for your kind offer to give me shelter, but I do not need your help. I was perfectly fine on my own. I’ve lived that way for three years and I will keep living that way. I know that you care to help a damsel in distress, but I just can’t seem to live under a roof and eat three times a day and forget what had happen to me. I deserved this. It’s too dangerous. I need to keep moving. Thank-you for understanding and let me be.

Georgia Wye

Bullshit.

I walked down the steps and handed the note to my mom. I grabbed the keys off the counter and walked out of the house. Before I could enter the car my mom comes out.

“What do you think your doing? You going to go find her? She doesn’t want to live in a house. It’s her choice not yours. Like the letter said. Let her be.” I ignored her and jump in the car. I know I’m going to regret this but I’ll pay for the consequences later. I drove down the drive way and head for town.

I was driving for an hour. I even went to the diner and Shawn said she never came into work today. I drove by and girl and a mother having an argument. As I was passing the mother slapped the girl in the face. The girl looked up to my passing car and our eyes connected. I slowed the car, I saw her blond locks coming out of the hoodie she was wearing. It’s Georgia. I rounded the corner and park the car. I started to move quietly to where Georgia was. Soon I heard the conversation and I was glad it just started.

“I thought I told you to never come back!” the women yelled. Georgia looked pained. She didn’t say anything. The woman slapped her again.

“Answer me, you little brat.”
