I could hardly process what was happening and before I got my mind in order, I was running. Running away from Erudite. From my family. I ran fast to keep up with everyone and started to climb up to the railway line to wait to get on the train.

"Hey! I'm Liv, what's your name?" A girl dressed in black and white asked me. Candor.

"Hiya, I'm Brayden. Erudite" I smiled at her and shook her hand.

"Yeah I can tell" she laughed and I laughed along with her. I haven't felt this genuinely happy in so long. Soon the train started to get closer and closer to us.

"C'mon! We have to jump on!" Liv said to me and ran. So I ran after her and jumped on the train behind her and sat down. Wasn't as easy as it looks.

"Wasn't as easy as it looks" she said out of breath. I laughed.

"I literally just said that in my head" and she laughed too. We made short conversation about our old factions and what they were like, until people started jumping off the train onto a roof. I assumed we had to do the same so I grabbed Liv's hand and walked to the door, getting ready to jump.

"We jump on three okay? 1,2,3!" I said and we jumped together and landed beside each other. We both got up and laughed, hoping the worst was over. Boy were we wrong. We walked over to the group of initiates that were standing around a ledge with 2 people standing on it. One was a girl with long brown hair and she looked friendly enough. The other was the opposite. He had dark hair, tattoos up his neck, a few piercings on his face and look scary as hell. I was not going to get in his way.
He jumped off the ledge.

"My name is Eric! I am a leader here at Dauntless and I will be overseeing you're training. This is Lauren, she will be the Dauntless-borns trainer whereas I will be helping with the transfers. Now who's gonna jump first?" He said smirking slightly.

"What?"
"Where?"
People started asking questions.

"Down this hole right behind me, we need a first jumper." He said and coldly laughed. Everyone started quietly whispering between themselves so I decide to speak up.

"Me, I'll do it" I said relatively confidently. Eric smirked at me.

"It's all yours Brains" he said then snickered and so did a few others behind me. I walked up to the ledge and jumped on it and stared down at the bottom, not moving.

"C'mon, we don't have all day" Eric said laughing. I gulped and fling myself into the air. It was whistling by me, who knows what would be at the bottom and as soon as I thought it I landed on a net. I quietly laughed to myself until the net started to move and I was pulled off by a tall, dark haired man.

"My name is Four I will be your trainer, what is your name?" He asked me.

"Uh, it's, uh, Brayden." I said nervously.

"Okay, First jumper Brayden!" He shouted and very loudly may I add and there were cheers all around me.
He said to me,

"Welcome to Dauntless." Then walked away.
