My Weird Family

Chapter 12

As Abby and Flash are waiting in the elevator Abby turns to Flash and asks,

"So, where are we going?"

"Oh, it's a surprise but I'm sure you're gonna love it!"

Abby smirks and nods. They stand in silence for a bit when Flash breaks it by saying,

"You look really pretty, by the way."

Abby smiles, tukes her bangs behind her ear, and says, "Thanks Flash."

Flash smiles and shyly asks, "Is it cool if I hold your hand?"

Flash is acting like a shy little kid. Is this the real him? Abby thinks.

"Sure as long as you never call me Abae ever again."

Flash laughs as he says, "Yeah I hated it the second it came out of my mouth."

They laugh together, then Flash looks down as he slides his hand into hers interlocking their fingers. As Flash looks back up at her, he smiles at her and she smiles back. The elevator door opens they step out and head to the street.

Flash leads Abby down the New York City streets, finally they come to the place. Flash covers Abby's eyes then Flash says,

"Okay ready. Three, two, one." Flash removes his hands to reveal...a bowling alley.

"A bowling alley?"

"Yeah I thought it could be a fun way to bond. You know get to know each other?"

Abby thinks about what he said, smiles and says, "You're right this does sound like a lot of fun."

"Awesome, lets go in."

"Okay, but one quick thing."

"Yeah?"

"I don't know how to bowl."

"Well then this is the perfect opportunity to teach you."

Abby and Flash walk into the bowling alley hand in hand. Once they step in Abby is overwhelmed with all the sights and smells. Abby squeals in excitement, then stops once she realises what she's done. Flash chuckles at this and thinks, God she's perfect.

Abby and Flash get their shoes and lane. Flash is setting up their lane, Abby goes off to find her ball. Abby finds a ball that she likes, she tries to pick it up, as she does it almost lands on her foot. Just then Flash comes over and helps her.

"I don't think you want that ball."

"Why?"

"It might be too heavy for you."

"How do you know?"

"Cause it's a 14 pound ball."

"Oh, well yeah it's too heavy for me."

Flash chuckles again and says, "Okay try 10 pounds."

Flash hands the ball to Abby and she says, "Too light."

"Okay how about 12 pounds."

"Perfect."

"Wow, you really are stronger than you look." Flash says, walking back to the lane.

"Yeah, well I did knock you out on the first day."

Flash laughs and says, "I let you do that."

"Yeah, no you didn't."

Flash and Abby get to the lane and Flash asks, "So you've really never bowled before?"

"No, we never had enough money to go bowling. And it's hard to bowl with the Avengers as your 'family'."
