My Weird Family

Chapter 14

I wake up with someone holding me their head in my neck. I turn to face the person to see it's Peter.

"Morning beautiful." He says, sleepily.

"Morning." I say, smiling.

Suddenly a 8 year old boy and a 6 year old girl come running into the room. The boy easily jumps on the bed, but the girl needs a bit of help.

"Ben can you help Lily."

Ben turns around and helps Lily up onto the bed.

"Mommy! Daddy! Wake up!" Ben yells, jumping up and down.

"Daddy, you said you would make pancakes today!" Lily says, smiling.

Peter laughs, grabs Lily, and says, "I'm coming, my gorgeous girl!"

Lily laughs, while Ben keeps jumping, after a while I smile. I grab Ben and start tickling him, we all lay there laughing. I lay there happy, looking at Peter and my beautiful children. Happy with my life and that's when I know, It's Peter I like, not Flash.
"I think I love her."

"Flash?" Abby says, less weak than before.

"Abby." Tony says, running back to her side.

"Abigail." Flash and Peter say, in shock and unison.

Flash and Peter look at each other, both with hatred. Tony ignores them and says,

"Abby, don't move too much okay. You've been through a lot."

"I-I know. Flash what are you doing here?"

"I...I wanted to check on you."

Abby shakes her head and says, "Please can you just go. I don't mean to be rude but I can't handle seeing you right now."

Flash is a bit shocked as he asks, "Oh okay, do you want me to come back later?"

"No, I don't. Can you please just go."

Flash looks like he's been stabbed in the heart as he walks out of the room. A 12 year old comes running in stopping and saying,

"Abby! Are you okay? I couldn't come until Ms. Smith finished picking everyone else up."

"Charlie."

Charlie runs over, practically jumps on the bed, and hugs Abby with all his might. Abby holds him in her arms, she rests her head against his neck. Flash watches in pain as Abby and Charlie reunite, he quickly looks away and walks off, whispering,

"Why can that kid stay with Abigail and I can't? If it's the last thing I do, Abigail will be mine."

Back in the hospital room Abby is hugging Charlie when he says,

"Abby you're hurting me."

"Oh, sorry Charlie. Was I hugging you too hard?"

"No it's something on your chest."

"What?" Abby looks down to see something blue glowing from her chest. Abby flattens her gown to make out what it is.

Within seconds her mood changes from confusion to anger. She looks right at Tony and screams,

"YOU PUT AN ARCH REACTOR IN MY CHEST!"

"Abby stay calm."

"WHY!?"

"Because if I hadn't you would have died."

"What?"

Tony takes a shaky breath, recalling the memory, and says, "The surgeon told me that he wasn't sure you would survive, because of where the bullet was and your hemophilia."
