Chapter 19

With one swift movement Peter charges at Doc, but Venom steps in front of him. Peter tries to punch Venom but Venom blocks his punch with his hand. Peter tries with his other hand, Venom does the same thing.

Peter's eyes widen as he says, "Uh-oh."

As if tossing a piece of paper, Venom throws Peter across the room. Peter hits the wall and falls to the floor, he looks over to see Abby silently crying. This burns into Peter's mind, he gets up and attacks again. Peter keeps attacking until he finally can't get up anymore. Doc chuckles as he escapes into the shadows and the unknown.

Peter looks over to Abby, she hasn't moved, Peter crawls over to her, grabs her arm and asks,

"Ma'am what's your name?"

Abby looks directly at him, eyes red and puffy, stains of tears on her cheeks. Abby takes a shaky breath and replies,

"Abigail Stark."

"Abigail, I'm gonna distract him and while I do. There's a door in the next hallway, go through it and get out."

"But we're underwater?"

"Take this," Peter hands her a small device, as he continues, "simply attach it to your shirt, push this button and a bubble thing will go around your head and let you swim up to the surface."

"But what about you?"

"I'll be fine, I just want you out of here and out of danger."

Abby tries to look through his mask and into his eyes, but all she can see is white. Abby nods, Peter smiles from inside his mask, he whispers to Abby, 

"Alright in three.....two......one."

Peter rushes Venom from behind and screams, "Crotch!"

Peter starts beating up Venom the best he can while Abby gets off the ground and runs for the door. She gets to the hallway, looks back to see Venom's claws around Peter's neck. Peter looks over and screams,

"Don't worry about me just go!"

Abby takes a small step forward going to help, when Peter screams,

"Go!"

Abby runs down the hall and to the door, Abby puts the device on her shirt, pushes the button, opens the door and starts to swim. It takes Abby 5 minutes to finally get the surface, the bubble thing pops. Abby looks around until she sees a boat, Abby starts to scream,

"Help! Help, please!"

But no one hears her, she keeps screaming but no one comes. Finally, Abby just starts swimming until she finally reaches the shore. Abby walks out of the water, arms crossed, lips blue, still asking for help.

Yet again no one notices her, so Abby does what she's always done. Abby fends for herself, Abby walks in the cold, in wet clothes, all the way home. When Abby finally reaches the Tower her fingers, toes, and hair are frozen.

Abby gets in the elevator, hits the penthouse button, and stands there dripping, shivering. The doors finally open revealing everyone waiting for someone Abby or Peter, Tony jumps up and says,

"Abby." Tony touches her and continues, "Abby you're freezing, what happened? Cap get her some blankets, Hawkeye start a fire or something."

Cap and Hawkeye do as told, while Tony leads Abby to the couch. Abby just keeps shivering, while Cap wraps three different blankets around her. As Abby shivers she says,

"S-s-spider-Man-n c-came t-to h-help m-m-me. B-b-but h-he n-n-needs h-h-help."

"Where is he?"

"I-in a l-lab u-u-under t-t-the w-wat-ter, i-in t-the r-r-river."

Tony looks up at Thor, Nat, and Cap, they nod and leave. While Abby is trying to warm up and not freeze to death, Peter is getting the crap beaten out of him.

Peter pulls his mask up just the slightest bit, spits some blood out of his mouth, pulls his mask back down and asks,

"Is that all you've got?!"

Venom screams at him, Peter jumps back a bit and says, in his normal sarcastic tone, 

"Guess not."

Venom screams once more before, charging at Peter with Peter charging right back at him. Peter throws a few good punches in, when Venom gets the drop on him. Venom throws Peter at the wall again, causing something to crack Peter screams in pain.

Peter lays on the ground, arm around his side, in too much pain to move. Venom walks towards him, looking him up and down. Peter's mask is ripped all the way up to his nose, blood dripping from his mouth.

Venom gets closer to Peter, claws out and ready to kill, Peter tries to run but it hurts too much. Suddenly there's a loud bang, Cap and the others come through the door, Venom looks right at them and snarls.

"Thor, Natasha hit that thing with whatever you've got. I'm gonna get Spider-Man out of here." Cap calls.

Peter tries to get up as he screams, "Wait no, someone is in there. He's trapped and just needs help."

Thor and Nat nod as they start to attack Venom, Cap comes over and helps Peter up. Cap and Peter make their way to the door when Peter asks,

"Cap did she get home?"

"Yes, yes she did."

Peter smiles the best he can, while Cap gets him up and out of the lab. When they finally get to the shore, Cap pulls out his phone and calls Tony.

"Tony, it's Cap. Is Abby in bed?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Cause Peter needs our help."

"I'll get the lab ready."

With that Cap hangs up, picks up Peter and carries him back to the Tower. Once they get there Cap brings Peter straight to the lab, Cap lays him down on the table. Tony comes down and starts taking X-Rays only to see 2 cracked ribs, a broken wrist, and a sprained ankle.

Tony looks at Peter, at Cap, and back at Peter, as he asks,

"Peter did you do this so Abby won't get hurt?"

Peter looks at Tony, his eyes barely open and says,

"Yeah, but I didn't do it."

"Do what?" Cap asks.

"Protect her."

"What do you mean, she's alive." Tony says.

"Yeah but when I went to save her, she was lying on the floor. She had been crying, I didn't know why. She's been hurt and I didn't protect her, I failed you sir and I'm sorry."

Cap and Tony exchange a look, before Tony says,

"Peter what matters is that Abby's alive, now we just gotta get you fixed up so Abby doesn't get curious and start putting the pieces together."
