"Please stop! God make it stop," the four year old whimpered. She was inside her closet, knees to her chest, covering her ears and rocking back and forth. The closet was dark, black. The little girl couldn't see anything except for the light coming from behind the closet door over fifty feet away. All she heard was screams and yells. Clash! Things were being thrown, smashed. The child cried for her mother.
Creak. The closet door slowly opened.. there was no more light, just darkness.
Ha, Ha, Ha, she heard a low rumble. The laughter made the ground beneath her shake. She quickly got up, squinting her eyes trying to see.
"Come out, come out wherever you are," a deep voice whispered. The voice surrounded her, cradling her tiny body.
"No!" The girl cried. She was no longer in the dark closet. The child was outside in a garden.
"MOM?" She ran to the woman smelling the roses. The woman turned to the girl, smiled and opened her arms anticipating the child.
The girl ran and ran, but she was still in the same place. She felt like there was an invisible force pulling her. When she finally broke free from that force, she was no longer running to the woman but to a dark, shadow-like creature. She stopped running and couldn't move any more. The huge creature lunged at her and pushed her.
The girl was no longer a child. She was a woman falling from the edge of the garden. As she fell, she saw everyone laughing, pointing at her. She tried screaming but she couldn't. She fell and fell and kept falling.
