I flutter my eyes open and immediately feel a headache hit me. I groan. I feel something wet touch my hands and I look down to see Yager. I lift my head but it only drops back down. I was so weak.

I am laying down on a bed. I look up and see a white ceiling and hear beeping. Yager whines from down below. I attempt to sit up but only fall back down. My back and my chest throbs in pain giving me a discomfort. I look straight and see a painting of a beach real corny. I look in the corner and saw Red Hood, arms crossed and leg up against the wall. I blink confused.

"What...what happened?" I choke out.

"You passed out and I dragged you to the hospital. They wouldn't let the dog in so I had to sneak him in since you probably would ask where he was. He's fine just a few broken ribs and a leg. On the other hand. You have five broken ribs and a fractured arm and a two inch cut in your inner thigh. The doctors said you should be out in a month." Red Hood explains.

I raise an eyebrow and look at him. "Let me guess you read some paper that told you my injuries." I tell him.

"Well I guess you could say that. By the way where do you live so I can take you're dog there?" He asks me.

"I live in that apartment building where I was attacked. I live on the second floor on the right side first window." I tell him.

I pat the hospital bed and Yager places his paws on the bed and pulling himself up waging his tail. I scratch behind his ear and on the side of his face. I smile and then sigh. I couldn't even save myself and my dog and look where it got us. I look back at Red Hood.

"When are you going to take him to my apartment?" I question.

"In a few minutes. Let you two have a bonding time. I'll be just outside the window waiting. I'll come back in and take him to you're apartment." He tells me then opens the window and slips out and closes it.

I look back down at Yager and tears began to form blocking out some of my vision. He whines quietly. I laugh while my tears spill.

"I knew you would protect me. But we have to work on our fighting skills or father won't be happy and we would have to live back on base. And you know how much I don't want to." I tell him.

Yager wags his tail and licks my arm. I run my hand over his head and ears again and again. I look at his little blue cast on his leg and frown slightly. I rub his head again. I hope everything is going to be okay now? I look out the window and see Red Hood's leather jacket and smile only a little. Why do I have to rely on people to save me? I hear my phone buzz somewhere and I look and see my hoodie on a chair.

"Yager go get my phone please." I tell him.

He slides off the bed and walks over to my hoodie and grabs the whole thing and takes it off the chair and walks back and pops back on the bed giving me my now slobbered hoodie.

"Close enough." I smile and pat him on the head.

I grab my phone out of my hoodie and glance at the screen. It was my father. A sigh escapes from my lips and I answer.

"Hello." I tell him.

"Annabelle where are you? You were suppose to meet me at the base a day ago." My father yells.

"I'm sorry but I'm in the hospital right now and won't be able to get out for at least another month." I tell him.

I hear him sigh and I can tell that he is pinching the bridge of his nose, "Alright. What happened then?" He asks.

"Well dad it's rather a long story. Let's just say I was at the wrong place at the wrong time. But I'm fine nothing to major. The doctors said that I will be good as new. Besides you have a country to worry about. I should let you get back to that." I tell him.
