"I want to hear everything." Jason tells me. I could feel the frog in my throat develop as I was about to answer. "The past about my dog was true but part of my past wasn't true. My mom did die and I was being taken care of a Nanny or caretaker whatever you call it. . My father wasn't really around that much until after he got rid of the Nanny or the caretaker. I did move to Germany, England, France, Japan. Pretty much all of Europe and Asia. I ended up taking a secret service position and then after a few years I ended up in some sort of special forces. That's pretty much my background." I told him.
Jason leans back and studies my face. I can tell he's beginning to study my eyes and I don't want to advert his attention because it would make it look like I was lying. This time I wasn't. The attention was rather getting uncomfortable now. This guy still does scare me a little. "That's good enough so far. I'll ask you the rest of it later. I can tell there's more but there are way more important matters to attend too." Jason tells me. He stands up and walks behind me and returns with a laptop. He sits besides me and opens the laptop. "So clearly this plan never actually worked. We have to think outside of the box. I don't really know how Dead Shot works anymore. I handled more challenging opponents back in my days." Jason claims. I nod and could think of nothing else but how much pain my stomach is in.
"I'm probably going to have to do some hacking around. Gather information on Dead Shot and compare notes with others, and then we will go from there." Jason tells me. "In the mean time I'm going to watch tv." I told him. I knew he wasn't going to give me the remote control on the coffee table. I lean over already regretting to do so, and grab the remote control and lean back and turn on the Tv. The news channel immediately flashes on. The news reporters complaining about what happened last night and how the Batman saved a intelligence building and officials from the all terrifying Scare Crow. Then it goes on and on about subjects that showed no interest. I end up turning to the laptop screen.
"So what are you doing?" I ask and sounded kind of dumb already knowing he was hacking into something. "Hacking into Arkham Asylum." Jason tells me kind of irritated. "Last night there were reportings of fire works shooting out of a ware house. Other nearby buildings were caught a blaze and destroyed due to the fireworks. Also it appears that the Red Hood was spotted leaving the building on a motorcycle taking a woman with him who appeared to have been injured....." The new reporter says in a complete nonchalant way. I can hear Jason's fingers stop typing as the reporter continues on giving the story about what we did last night.
"Well isn't this just great. Attention from the news. Now I have bigger problems." Jason spits out. He goes back to typing as I go back to the news. The news turns towards the weather and then back to the front desk. I grab the remote and change the channel only to find a children's show. I froze questioning why this was on Jason's channels list. "I never knew you watched this stuff." I manage to say. "Nope, never do. I only have it to annoy a certain child that I once knew." Jason replies. "Okay. Sure. Whatever you say Red." I mock him. He stops typing and leans towards the screen and then turns the laptop towards me. "Here we are. All the information on Dead Shot in Arkham Asylum. He also managed to escape a while back before you were attacked." Jason notes.
"Great." I turn my head back to the Tv clearly not interested at the moment. "Well if you don't mind I have some things I have to take care of tonight. So I won't be here at night." Jason tells me. "Going to do some Red Hood business I see. Have fun. I'll just write some notes down and so forth." I tell him. "Here's a cellphone to reach me if something pops up." Jason tells me.
-Time Skip-
Jason left awhile ago and yet here I am still watching Tv. I really gotta get this note stuff down. I tell myself. I flip back to the news and set the remote down, and grab the laptop and notepad to begin my dragging journey. At least he's been gone for about five minutes, maybe more. I begin hacking into the GCPD station and pull any files they have on Dead Shot then copying the notes and then begin back to Arkham Asylum. After what seems like forever the Tv begins to flash. I glance up and see someone else on the Tv screen. I glance back down and then jerk my eyes back on the Tv screen. It wasn't Jason or Batman. It was Scare Crow. "Oh holly grail..." I mutter. I feel the chills run down my spin. I wanted to hide but was unable to do to my wounds. My ears started to ring and Scare Crow began to talk. I can't hear a word he is saying but his mouth is moving. Great now just what I need an anxiety attack already. I mock myself.
I grow frustrated and scared. I wasn't sure what terror awaited for Gotham. Suddenly an image of me flashed on screen for a few seconds and then was gone. Scare Crow said something and then it went back to the news. The ringing won't stop, I have no idea what is happening, my life can be endangered. Is all I can think as my head lays in my hands. I suddenly feel something on my shoulder and immediately grab it and spin around to find Red Hood. My body relaxes a bit and I lean back. He kept pulling on my arm and I turned confused. The ringing subsides after a few tugs. "Come on! We have to leave now!" Jason yells.
"Jason what's going on?" I ask. "Did you hear on the news!?" Jason yells. I give him a puzzled look. He sighs and picks me up, holding me under the knees and wraps my arm around his neck. "Scare Crow has a reward for your head. Dead or Alive. Dead Shot must have needed help or your father must've pissed off a lot of people in Gotham." Jason explains as he runs towards the window. "Jay...I don't think this is a good.....idea" I stutter as he opens the window. "Too bad. We are doing things my way now." He tells me. He leaps out and I wanted to crap myself. He shoots a zip line and swings on to the roof tops. "I'm taking you out of the city." Jason warns. "Ja...Red Hood. I can't leave. My dog." I tell him. "Your dog is fine. Nightwing has him already by now." Jason replies.
I could tell Jason was becoming serious now because of his attitude towards me. When I first met him he was nice but now he's getting more serious. He hardly knows me and I hardly know him as well. But I know I can fix that problem. I just have to access the files on my dads laptop. Which is all the way in New York. "Jason where are we going?" I question him cautiously. "Leaving the city. I will solve the problem but it's become to dangerous for you here." He tells me. "Jason Todd, I think not!" I yell at him. "You have no choice here. You asked for my help and I'm giving it to you. You specifically told me these threats need to be eliminated permanently. I'm pretty much the only one who can do that." Jason replies irradiated. I finally decided to shut my mouth already knowing if I say more things he's going to become more frustrated with me and perhaps not help me at all.
"It's time to play things my way now. I'm done playing your game. From this day, this hour, and this minute forward. We are doing things my way. First thing we are leaving out of the city. I will continue to work on it but just outside of the city." Jason tells me a bit rushed. He begins to walk faster and hold me tighter. I already knew how much danger we are in now that my face has been revealed on the news. Jason shoots another grapple hook and swings onto another rooftop and begins to run towards the edge. My whole body suddenly begins to scream for me to run as I noticed he wasn't grabbing his grapple hook. He runs off the building and we begin to fall. I burry my face into his jacket and scream into his chest. Suddenly the air stops moving past me ears as I begin to notice we have stopped falling. I remove my head from his chest and look around to see we are standing on an alien ship.
~I'm really sorry about the short chapter. And also how long it took to write this chapter. Anyways the next chapter will be out in a couple of weeks.
