I wake up to someone blowing in my face. I swat away the source that was creating the blowing only to have my wrist grabbed. I open my eyes with a jerk and look at who caught my hand. Jason. I twist my hand and pull but his grip tightens and pulls me off the couch."Time to get up sleepy head. You can't sleep all day now just because you're in my safe house." He tells me.
I groan and yank my hand free from his grasp. I land back on the couch and pull the blanket up over my head. I feel Jason grab the blanket and try to pull it off. I grasp the blanket desperately as if my life depended on it. "Jason let go of the blanket." I mumble. "It's really my blanket and you need to get up. We have work to do." He throws back. I let go of the blanket and sit up. I yawn and stretch my arms outward then let my arms fall to my side as I close my mouth. "Do you have any coffee Jason?" I ask tiredly. "No, Sorry. We can get some coffee later. But at least you're up." He tells me. I stand up and walk to the bathroom and open the door and close it behind me. I flick the light on and blink a couple of times until my eyes adjusted to the light.
I undo my sock bun and place my hair ties on his bathroom sink. I remove my clothes and pull the curtain back and jump in. I turn on the water to hot and begin to search for shampoo. I let out another yawn and apply shampoo to my hair and then rinse and get out, there is no way I am sharing the same body wash with him. I grab a towel and dry myself off and put on my clothes back on. I dry out my hair and put it back into a sock bun. I hang the towel up and walk out of the bathroom.
Jason looks at me wide eye, "I never knew girls could take showers that fast." He confesses. "Well I was raised by the military and joined the Secret Service so there is really no time to dilly dally around in the shower." I tell him taking my seat at the dinning table. I cross my arms on the table and lay my head on my arms closing my eyes, I am so not a morning person. I feel something hit me in the head and I sit up looking well...more like glaring at Jason.
"Really?" I groan. "Yep, I'm not going to let you fall asleep on my dinning table." He warns. "Yeah, well watch me do just that." I tell him. I hear him sigh and he walks over to me. I lay my head back down on my arms and he hits me again. I growl, he hits me again. "Okay, if I can't sleep we are going out to get breakfast at a diner I know." I tell him. "Deal." He says and grabs my arm and pulls me out of my chair.
He drags me to the front door but then stops. He covers my eyes with one hand and pulls me to his chest. We start walking around in circles and then straight forward. I hear a door click open and close. Then we start walking, next thing I know Jason scoops my legs up and walks.
After a couple of minutes he removes his hands from my eyes and we are in front of my apartment. I look at him. "Well lead the way Bell." He chimes giving me a smirk. I look at his face and see that he is no longer wearing his red domino mask. He replaced it with reflexive aviators. I begin the trudge through the snow walking towards the metro. I hear him behind me and it gives me the goosebumps. I feel for my pocket knife but then remembered I threw it at the thugs head trying to get his attention away from Yager. I slow my pace down and walk next to Jason.
"Annabelle! Is that you?!" I hear a familiar voice. I look up and see it's Chelsea with another young red haired woman, Rebecca. Chelsea runs towards me and Jason and I begin to panic. They are going to want to know who he is. I glance around and stop in my tracks and Jason follows. "Crap it's Chelsea and Rebecca." I mutter.
"Annabelle, who is that man standing next to you?" She asks me when she reaches me. I grab his hand and look at him. "Oh this....he's my...boyfriend.....I forgot to tell you about him." I stutter. I stand closer to Jason hoping he will pick up on my lead and follow. I look at Chelsea, she didn't buy it. I felt Jason wrap his arm around my waist and holds out his other arm for Chelsea to shake. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I heard so many great and wonderful things about the both of you." He tell them warmly and forces a smile on his face.
