Chapter 14

Nakiyah

*1 Year Later*

For my 18th birthday my dad helped me get a house. I would of been just fine in an apartment but he insisted a house. It's just me and Zariah living there. I work part time at footlocker and I do hair sometimes for extra money. When I save up I plan on opening my own salon/store.

I haven't talked to Vontae since that argument. Diamond had her baby and Zariah is now 4 years old.

After I finished putting my straight hair into a neat ponytail I seen that I had 30 minutes to get to work and I Still had to drop Zariah off at Messiah's.

"Come on Zariah" I yelled walking downstairs grabbing my purse .

I dropped Zariah off and made it to work just in time.

"I'm ready to check out" The customer said

"Okay did you find everything okay" I asked looking up.

"Okay did you find everything okay" The cashier asked looking up

It was Nakiyah and she was looking better than ever, her hair was pulled into a ponytail her lips was extra glossy and her eyes made me miss her even more.

"How you been" I said looking into her eyes

"Great" She said handing me my bag.

"Nakiyah you can go to lunch now". One of the other workers said

"Let me buy you lunch"

"I'm good I can buy myself lunch" She said grabbing her purse.

I really don't want to be bothered with him right now even though he looks hella good but that's beside the point.

"Can you give me at least two minutes" he pleaded

"Two minutes..Your time starts now" I said walking out of footlocker with him on the side of me.

"I really do miss you Nakiyah and I don't know what I was thinking sleeping with another when I had a loyal ass female waiting for me at home.. Look what I'm trying to say is I want another chance Nakiyah please" he said grabbing my hand and placing it in his.

"We only went out for 3 weeks and I feel like those three weeks meant nothing to you but I really can't blame you because it was only 3 weeks"

"No it was only 3 weeks we had a title, think of all the good times before that.. We basically was together for 4 months and if I didn't care why would I be asking for another chance"

"But Vontae its been a whole year, Why are you just now asking for another chance"

"Because this is the first time I seen you in a year" he said in a duh tone

"I have a phone Vontae , and the number never changed but your time is out" I said walking away

I really never thought of how long we talked before we actually got into a relationship but I honestly have bigger things to worry about right now and a relationship isn't one of them.
