A few weeks had passed and a lot had happened.
Limburger had attacked an average of twice a week getting progressively more and more aggressive; the last attack ending in the biker mice demolishing his tower and unfortunately the stadium, both of which were now currently under construction.
Stoker was all but moved into Stella's lab and one of her spare rooms, as had each of the other biker mice since their hide out in the scoreboard had been destroyed and Charley's place was way too cramped to play host for four large alien mice.
The attacks also resulted in the regenerator getting smashed to pieces meaning Stoker was back to the square one, having to rebuild the machine from scratch. Stoker had been forced to tell the gang about the regenerator as a result and how once it was finished he would be taking it back to Mars to help. This seemed to light a new found fire and sense of urgency in the guys.. Stella couldn't help the sinking gut feeling she was going to have to say goodbye to her nearest and dearest sooner than she'd have liked.
That particular morning Stella was in the kitchen making coffee when Charley walked in, tying her hair up into a messy ponytail. She'd stayed the night after the boys had gotten back late and she'd ended up having to fix up the bikes well into the early hours. Stella had made up the last remaining spare room for her but of course she ended up staying with Vinnie in his room. The two were a lot more obvious now and very much an item though they'd still not announced anything to the group. Stella supposed they didn't really need to, everyone could see it and the two had finally stopped trying to hide their relationship after being caught multiple times in some compromising positions...
"Do you realize," Charley said, opening the fridge, "that there are currently three alien freedom fighters living in your house?" Stella didn't even look up from the coffee machine.
"Four, if you count Stoker." Charley grabbed the milk and added it to the coffee Stella poured for her before leaning against the counter. "Did not expect my life to be like this back in college, thats for damn sure."
"Yep, your life got real weird, real fast, Stell." Stella snorted.
"I've only myself to blame, but I couldn't just leave them to fight their way out of Limburger's cells. You didn't help matters being their hostess and personal mechanic on Earth."
"Yeah, but I didn't expect you to adopt all of them!"
"They adopted themselves thank you very much," Stella replied. "They just showed up with bikes and emotional damage and started simultaniously fixing and breaking shit around the place."
Charley laughed. "That is the most accurate description of the guys I've ever heard."
They made their way out the french doors and onto the patio overlooking the large garden surrounding the house. The girls stood in comfortable silence for a moment admiring the sunny day and enjoying their fresh coffees.
"So." Stella didn't even turn to face her.
"No."
"I didn't even say anything yet!
"You were about to. And I know exactly what you were going to start talking about." Charley took a sip from her mug.
"Throttle.?" Stella closed her eyes slowly and sighed.
"I knew it."
"Oh come on," Charley said. "It's so obvious!"
"It took you and Vinnie how long to finally stop hiding what everyone could see?"
"That's different. We're not hiding anymore. You two are ridiculous."
"We are not ridiculous. What is ridiculous is you. Pot meet Kettle."
